What materials are used for the table frame and top?

Hi there,

Much like my question on your other picture, just wondering what the table is made from and where it is from? I am naturally a fan, as we have a similar table in our range;

Hello, the beautiful dining table in the New Forest house is made from 100mm thick steel welded base and has a sand blasted oak veneer top....I hope helpful?

Hi minnie yeah that’s probably the best option...I was just being lazy & was hoping to order online! I don’t think I’ve posted any pics yet as it isn’t finished (just getting over a persistent bug & then hopefully it will be all systems go!) need to get a new table with lower backed chairs, add the wooden breakfast bar to the island, stools & accessorise. Here’s a pic I took a few months back, the floor looks more subtle irl :)

Provided the barn isn't listed, materials will depend on if you need PP or not. You may or may not have any PD rights depending on when the original conversion was done and under what authority (PP or PD). If you have PD rights I think you have to use similar materials. If you need PP the LPA may specify materials or require you to get them pre approved. Also, there will be other differences if you are in a conservation area or AONB.

Without seeing the room it is very hard to picture what would go, but blues, greys and whites do tone well with rich woods or the paler woods. I think you can mix woods as long as they are similar in tone, but too much of a mish mash of woods can look odd. I have dark oak laminate floors and oak tv cabinet and side tables. I did have some ginger pine bookcases but I’ve painted them instead as it was a bit too orange! I like this picture which is wood overload and still beautiful:-

Hi George, I agree with Sonia and would use topsoil to bring the level up. You can get them in bulk bags of almost a tone each. Gravel will increase the drainage capacity of the soil above it, which can be good, but it can also make your the lawn on top of it prone to drying out easily during the hot months.
