Hi, I need help in choosing right colour/type rug for my living room
Comments (21)What about a bespoke rug made from a cream coloured carpet with a mink / black border? We have a great 'Make me a rug' designer on our website where you can have a play, but here are a couple of combinations that we loved! http://www.alternativeflooring.com/rugsrunners/make_me_a_rug...See MoreIn need of a rug!
Comments (6)I wouldn't choose a rug that contrasts with the floor too much otherwise it will make the room feel smaller. It's a lovely room but I would add some pattern. It's quite hard to find luxurious rugs with a pattern in though! The first is westelm and the Berber style is John Lewis. You could just go plain for the rug and add some pattern with cushions though? It's a lovely room. Have you tried the chair facing the sofa on the other side? Perhaps move the display unit along and add a tall plant behind the chair? If you go for a coffee table I'd go for glass and brass. I'd add art over the sofa and westelm also do this plug in wall light which is great for space saving....See MoreWhat colour rug/s and furniture
Comments (31)I think you feel it looks too solid is because you haven’t followed through with the rest of the room, for example cushions to tie in with it. Further up these comments minnie101 has suggested some black patterned cushions which i think would lift the scheme, however if you really don’t like it then follow your heart and return it. Why keep something you don’t like? Then choose a colour-way that you prefer, such as the blue you suggested. A blue coastal theme would tie in nicely with the neutral theme you have at the moment. By the way, i got a Turkish rug from Olney Carpets in Bucks, and they let us take it home for a week to see if we liked it before buying! True service, and yes we did buy it! Of course buying online does give you that option too. I wish you lots of luck....See Moreplease help with rug for conservatory
Comments (19)I think it would make a lot of difference if you had outside lights highlighting plants and keep the light level very low in conservatory itself so your eye is drawn outside when you look that way. I’d be doing everything I could not to highlight the white frames of the conservatory at night. A bit like Beano said about gloss white v Matt white on sofa I would be really tempted to paint the frames Matt white. And I would be hanging plants in the conservatory itself too and positioning some soft lights to highlight plants. (Tbh if this conservatory is being used often at night I would have to paint the frames a dark green or grey or black)...See MoreNatalie Patton
