Bathroom dilemma.
Please help me try to design a new bathroom in a very small space
7ft 4 x 5ft. We presently only have a shower and a really small one at that and really want a bath with a shower over head . I am currently renovating this house room by room after divorce and live with my 13 year old boy and finding this shower only box hard to take as can't move in it

8 years agoYou've got a couple of options. Here's what I think is probably the best one. I've assumed your door is next to where the shower is. To save space make sure the hinges of the door are on the right as you look at it, so it opens onto the radiator wall. You'll need a space saving bath that is 70cm wide. If you go for a 1500 x 700mm bath, there will be room for a 60cm sink close to where the sink is now. You could leave the toilet where it is, so that saves messing around with the plumbing too much or turn it so it's where the toilet roll holder is currently. Or you could have a combined sink and toilet unit on one wall, bath on the other. A 1500 x 700mm bath would also fit under the window across the width of the room, that's a bit more plumbing to shift the toilet but can be done. You've got more options than you think. Go to a bath store and get them to draw up some options for free or play around with software on their website.

Comments (9)I've just cobbled together a quick plan for you and then on re-reading OnePlan's suggestion above I realise its the same thing so apologies for that. Wasnt trying to copy. If you have more accurate dimensions I'll happily put together something a bit more accurate. With this plan you lose a bit of space from the front room and the bedroom but you turn the flat into a 2 bed, great for when you come to resell. Comments (4)Depending on where the door opening is you could move the wc to where the basin is at the mo and then put the basin on the wall beside the rad: in which case you could get a mirror cabinet on the wall above and maybe another unit in the corner. Otherwise the layout as it is is probably the best option but, as suggested above, some smart built in units would work really well. A good inward-folding shower screen and a decent shower bath (not necessarily a p- or d-shaped) will make it more user-friendly and I would suggest looking at an overflow filler controlled by the shower valve rather than a bath tap so that there’s less to clean. :) Underfloor heating can be lovely and shouldn’t cost much in the grand scheme of things: the roll out matting version is pretty easy to install....See MoreBefore & After- Modern Bathroom- Barnes Period Home

It also depends on your budget what can be achieved in this Bathroom.
You could consider moving the toilet and sink into one wall, on the right of course, or move the sink to the front of the window. If you would move them both to the right obviously the radiator would be on the way, that case you can have floor heating or move down that as well.
On the left once you take out the sink you will be able to fit in a bath tub.
A sliding or foldable door can also save lots of space.
