You need some pictures on the walls, and how about a tall vase or basket / woven type vase with tall dried flowers - seed pods - leaves next to your TV to hide the wall socket and the cables? Brown and green colouring with a woven vase would work well and be in your colour scheme. Think about a large basket on the opposite side of the TV for magazines etc or, a more flat open type basket with some leaves conkers small logs or stones in it - pot-pourri, could do both - magazine basket with open basket just in front to the side. A light coloured throw of colours that match your unit on the couch, with some extra cushions. A pouffe in front of your window, or small tub type or woven chair with a small table beside it, a plant would look good also. You have a lovely looking room that just needs a bit of character added, something that will reflect your personality. How could you not see the red star first? It's positioned in the middle of the picture, it's a striking colour and everything else is a bland mess. It's obviously a very nice kitchen but the first thing I would do if I moved in here is remove some of the clutter especially the red star so the lovely cabinets could take centre stage

God I love your cabinets and worktop - don't change a thing! You could add pops of colours - almost anything will look good as a nice neutral pallet. Do you like maybe a soft lavender which always goes nice with the soft grey-green of cupboards? F&B Elephants Breath has a hint of it. I'm glad to see everyone saying leave cupboards as they are. They are gorgeous. Hope you find inspiration from some of these comments and this amazing website. Good luck,

Fabulous ideas everyone, keep them coming:-) Carolina, my first thought was also a mirror, maybe an antique style one. Definitely something to think about. Minnie101, I love your inspiration as always, love the blue cameo box image, will definitely test out some decoupage on the little bedside cabinet. To all, must say I’m not much for chalk paint, never liked the feel of it although you can get some good effects plus you can always varnish/wax over it. Just feel for this piece I neeeed colour! Our hallway can get rather gloomy at the best of times (north facing with only the door for daylight). I do love natural wood but the cabinet, although nicely shaped is just cheap pine and not the best quality. I didn’t pay much for it so feel justified in painting it. Emily, i’ll probably get the Land Rover enamel paint just because I want to see how it compares to standard gloss, watch this space! Here’s my inspo pic for hallway although ours hasn’t got the side bit round the stairs, it’s slightly wider and we need storage for bike and shoes etc.
