Wrong grout colour

Through no fault but our own, our shower tiles were grouted with grey grout when they should have been brilliant white. Some may like this look but for us it's just not what we were going for.

The tiles are up about a week not and are well set. Has anyone any experience on what to do here?? We've read about grout paint me grout revival pens but then we've also heard that our only option is to scrape out the old and regrout with white!

id have either stopped when mixing.
if decided to see the look.done a small test patch.

but too late. either full strip all Tile off and restart or Rake the grout back and re grout.

I dont recommended the grout pens.

I did hear someone who used white gloss and a small artist brush but I don't think that's a long term solution so you will have to scrape it out and do it again sadly I think if you really don't like it

Hi, I too wouldn't tile and would simply leave the upstands. I would remove the cream splashback and replace with a Blue (similar to what is posted above) coloured splashback. Alternatively a splashback In a similar finish and colour to worktop can be raised upto the wall units to give a seamless, easy to clean splashback. I think one of the major issues, in terms of aesthetics, with this kitchen is the cool cream paired with the warmer brown which is fighting against the white of the walls and flooring. I would paint the walls a shade of brown (dark or light) which tonally works with the cabinets and worktop and accessorise with teals and mustards. Alternativly you can use a neutral coloured glass splashback paired with orange accessories, blinds and even a feature wall to draw the eye away from the kitchen. If you can change the flooring to a wood effect vinyl, IMO, the overall look will be improved.

Hi Lucy, For a toilet floor a darker grey grout would be best to hide any stains or spills. However from your photo the base colour of the tile looks quite beige, so a coloured grout like the BAL Micromax2 in Lime would be a good option, this will keep a heritage look whilst being more practical than an off-white. I’m glad I found this post. Feeling like I could cry. Just had front and back of the house rendered in Atlas ‘off white’ (renderer said white was too stark) so went with off white…The colour looks like it has a tinge of pink/lilac/grey to it 😭 😭😭 Feeling very depressed as it was a big job. I was advised by the renderers to repaint using silicone paint.

Yes. removing the grout would need to be done with a diamond grout removing tool and it is near on impossible to do it without chipping the tiles. Your gloss tiles will show the little chips even with white grout. I personally think it looks good and won't be so busy once the kit is in there. Id there a mirror going somewhere etc?

Thanks folks...unfortunately the tiler didn't question the grey grout as some people like that these days! Scrape it out and redo is our only option but at least it'll be right then
