Looking for lamp/ lighting

Have this beautiful William Morris willow pattern wallpaper and looking for a lamp to sit in the recess. I love the tripod design but think it may look too modern next to this paper. We are also getting an old style Chesterfield sofa in antique leather soon so needs to blend in!

I would not use a floor lamp here. I'd look for a narrow console table or a small chest and put a table lamp on top of it.

Thank you for that. I am sure you're right, that would look better. Any ideas what style ?

Tee hee, I think of it an updated classic minus that shade!! Have you looked at India jane? Some of them are quite reasonable. I pretty much like all of them but may not be your thing. Is the lamp to go on a table near where the boys play? Could you swap other lamps if you want glass? Or would a desk style brass lamp work, maybe a more modern retake? Or again I'm not sure it's your thing but you could have a ginger jar base and get a shade to match.

Ceiling Lighting ideas for lounge that will do with a tripod lamp

We have this tripod lamp in our lounge and have 2 ceiling lights but have no idea what fittings or lampshades to put on them. I have attached a photo of the new lamp and a photo of our lounge so you can get an idea of our colour scheme (ignore my husband on the sofa 😂) Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated please.

Hi, will you want to read in bed? Table lamps are great for ambient lighting, but reading lights are essential for book worms. Have you also thought about getting a bespoke headboard made up to cover the whole wall with integrated wall lights? This would really define the space, making the bed area feel more like a destination! Somewhere you would want to be as soon as you see. There are some fantastic wall lights on the market, but appreciate this will increase your costs, with an electrician etc. Having a larger headboard will make the bed/space feel bigger too. electrcian costs etc.

I would be careful with the size of the shade because the diameter of the bottom of the shade should be narrower than the furniture it's sitting on (so it doesn't project into the room and get knocked or damaged). I think of lamps as the jewellery of the room and I love to introduce colour with them, such as a single shot of beautiful colour in a nice shiny finish. That way you'll have colour and a nice interesting shape. Get something with a white shade so that it can be a good light source. If you go with a black shade, it can be attractive, but the only light you'll get from it will be above and below the shade (not through it).
