1. is there a join in the marble somewhere due to length restrictions? 2.is the stainless steel upstand in one piece with the worktop i.e.does it just flow up the wall?
The marble is in one piece. It is about 3100mm (UK typical length is 2800 ish mm but we know the owner of the quarry in Italy). You can join though which works well. You could try book-matching it if you are using a stone with a flamboyant grain.
The stainless steel is solid (4mm) which is welded up the wall and then back into the wall.
