tripple sliding, bifold or slide and pivot doors

I have a 4m opening in my new kitchen extension leading to the back garden and I can't decide what doors to go for. I love the slide and pivot doors but don't know anyone that has them. Wondered what doors other people have?

We've just had a similar extension completed we went for grey bi folds, we just love them.

We've just paid the deposit on some grey external/white internal aluminium bifolds. Managed to find a company who had one on display so got to have a good feel for how it all worked. I couldn't bring myself to buy one that I'd not seen! It's just a shame very few companies who sell them have showrooms, out of the 8 I rang only two could show me their product!

At home we have one of each. Sliding from the dining room into the garden room and then bifold in the garden room. I like both but it’s nice having the bifold that can be stacked providing an uninterrupted view. We’ve left our bifolds open all through this hot weather. On the downside a blackbird flew into the open bifolds. Needless to say he came to an unfortunate ending.

Hi, I know this discussion has been a while now, but what option did you finally go with? We are also in a similar situation. We are considering a bifold or slide and turn option. Sunseekers reviews seem better than new wave. I look forward to hearing what option you went with.

We had slide and pivot doors with three panels when we had out kitchen done as we preferred them to regular bi-folds, plus they suited the constraints of the room better for us. I absolutely love them, they provide an extra flexibility over and above what you have with with patio doors or bi-folds. We opted for internal blinds and a pull across fly screen - which I can honestly say is the best thing ever. It means we can have the doors wide open in the summer and not have any flies come in. But a hidden bonus is, it filters the hot sunlight, which shines directly into the room from about 11.00onwards in the summer, so it keeps the room a bit cooler in the height of summer. I like that we can have just the access door open, or that and a panel or all of the panels, but we can also choose where the gap is across the width. Your doors look great Mary. I agree Katie about wanting to see the doors before buying them, I'd hate to buy some and not like them. I've found a company called New Wave Doors that do the slide and pivot doors so I'm going to go and see some at the weekend.
