Kitchen Living Dining Colour Scheme

Hi, I have plan to get a kitchen with the attached colour scheme. I need to do a dining table and a TV unit in the same room, made from different wood. do the dining table and TV unit need to match? also, I plan to have a metre sofa, does the TV unit need to be roughly the same size? thank you so much

Wrt colours - the more colours you introduce, the more careful you have to be. For that reason, I might be tempted to keep dining furniture and TV unit similar.

You might also consider looking for, say, a dark walnut set of furniture with just a "hint" of the original lighter colour (say a thin inlay or doors in a lighter colour) to help tie everything together.

Wrt sizes - I do not personally think the sizes have to be the same - instead, I would look carefully at your overall room layout and sizes and make sure that everythin is well proportioned for its location, and that proportions are broadly consistent. Try to get some CAD pictures of your preferred designs and see how they look to you!

As you've got glass doors I would treat the room as one as you can still see through if they're open or shut. You can add a 2nd accent colour for each room but I would choose ones that coordinate so if you carry the red through to the dining room, one end could be accented with navy and one with duck egg for example. If you paint/paper walls in a warm colour it brings the wall in whereas a cool colour makes it recede. If you paper the left dining wall in a warm or bold patter it will shorten it in my opinion. Just draw it out on paper with the colours and you can see the effect.

Hello Moneera, A very relaxing space you have and I hope you really enjoy living in your new place.. What about a really large mirror that you could just lean against that wall in the dining area.. Something with a frame that's painted the same colour as the wall would really give an interesting focus along with light and the illusion of a bigger room.. Even really big rooms look good with huge mirrors.. Ebay has a good online mirror shop that sells mirrors of all designs up to 8ft.. It would add a dramatic backdrop to the dining area and work beautifully throughout the day. For the other side, living room side, you could create a really interesting shelving artwork with that corner next to the window.. If you were to get some box type shelves and paint them the colour of the walls and possibly some in an accent colour... you could fix them to the wall and have nooks and interesting levels to place nice pieces on and some perhaps that swivel on hidden hinges, so they can pivot and close.. If you want to hide some things... You create a textured piece of wall art that also has a function... You could also carry this theme into the room behind the sofa just in part.. There is a strong geometric theme with your sofa and cubes and thinking of how to apply this aesthetic to other areas of the room... So using the box idea to create a screen and shelving system, that both adds to creating a separate room divider/bookcase/art instillation. It's an artistic way to create bespoke shelving which can be accessed from both sides.. It still needs to be quite open in order to see through to the both sides... You could have boxes with backs which then become open as they continue upwards to become a more transparent look.. I have tried to find you some images to show you what I mean but you could use all 3 as a point of inspiration to create a bespoke look if you liked the idea...... A sheepskin for the back of the sofa and some lovely cushions would be really fantastic too.. : ))

With the wood, I think if continue to use orange tones, it'll be too...orangey. I'd go for either blue as it's opposite on the spectrum, or continue around the spectrum to yellow-green as a cool colour.
