Blind/curtain fabric suggestions?

Hoping to get some ideas for fabrics to match this light fitting! The light is in a spare bedroom which I'm converting into a dressing room. I have solid oak wardrobes and a dressing table currently in the room. Should I go for something plain like a ligh grey or try to incorporate some of the colours? Thanks!

Hi Rebecca, lovely colours in your light but I would avoid grey toned fabrics with it and the oak furniture. Instead I would opt for a faux silk or crushed velvet in a pale golden colour. I would also go for full length curtains that are slightly too long for a puddle effect.

Would pick out the raspberry or green tones, they go best with wood. Also, found one with butterflies on it ( depending on your tastes ), which actually matches a lot of the colours spot on. Butterflies

Good news is that I've chosen some curtains - a neutral pleated set, with a black out lining, from John Lewis that go with the wallpaper background without being sparkly...! On the off-chance that someone has experience with fitting curtains on awkward walls, can anyone recommend what sort of curtain rail / tracking to use for this window? I.e. a couple of inches of wall space to the left, and zero to the right of the window... Thanks!

I went with Perfect Fit Venetians for my new French doors. They fit into a frame so blinds don't flap around when you open the door . There is also a handle at the base to pull up and down to reveal the glass and a switch at the top to open and close slats. I personally prefer the aluminium as they were the more hygeinic option for a kitchen and don't hold onto cooking smells. I think curtains blowing in the wind when the door is open always look as if they are escaping.

I'd suggest Dunelm, (or hobbycraft have a small selection) if you've got one near you... could otherwise see if there is a franklins or a search online for a local haberdashery ? Also I know you said upmarket Ikea... but if it's for a 3 year old and you might change it in the not so distant future anyway... Ikea do also have fabric of course

Hello Hayley, What a lovely alcove! I second on the curtains. Dusty pink or coral would look lovely with that green. Velvet would be so lush. You could also consider using a faux suede.
