What material is covering the two radius pieces that run the length of the photo, left and right, that form the transition between the ceiling panels and the inlet areas?

That material is Ultraleather Pearlized in Pewter #322-5768 https://www.ultrafabricsllc.com/pewter

I have a similar look in my bathroom and used one wall of quartzite tiles which are green/gold. The other tiles are porcelanosa dover tiles which come in different neutral colours. I went for Dover Caliza and painted the wall Skimming Stone so it looked seamless. They are matt and textured.

Hello, I know exactly what you mean :-) and that is what I am having in my kitchen. I have a tall cupboard too but it’s is the same depth as the wall units rather than the base units so it would sit flushed with the boxing around the steel column. My base unit will have an end panel, worktop will go right to the end and then I will also have an end panel for the tall cupboard sitting on top of worktop. My worktop is being fitted tomorrow so I will upload a photo so you can see! :-). I think having an end panel will give it a better finish even if you don’t have any panels in between the other units

Hello Caw01 I love houses with period character. It makes the space feel a lot more earthy and homely. The colour is important but also what feeling does the space leave you with when walk in. I would consider the space between the wood as negative space. The main feature is the wood. I would paint it with a woodstain, Ronseal do one in that is quick drying. Go for Matt finish not gloss to keep it looking natural and go for a natural colour like Antique or Mahagony. I would go for a durable paint live vinyl-Matt in Brilliant White by Dulux, Wickes do a decent-is in house brand version. Your home is beautiful instead of focusing on the negative space between the wood. Make the wood itself the feature and everything is a neat and clean white.
