Oh dear ! To face designing a whole house to work with orange wood that you don't like is a big no no in my opinion . Bite the Bullet and get a painter in ! Then you can have whatever look you want !! Or have a painting party !!! Either way - this orange wood will annoy you if you keep it !!!

The colour temperature of the LEDs suit the finishes of the first kitchen, but the second kitchen , with wooden effects, needs a much warmer LED. A fine line when working in kitchens as the cooler the LED, the better the preparation light. Tough one!

It's LED strip lighting. It comes on a sticky tape , can curve and needs additional fixing at the end of the strip to supply power to the tape. Just a couple of notes- some but not all can be put on a dimmer switch, there are difference colours available but in my opinion warm white is kinder to our homes, sometimes the cheaper ones don't look like one long light but instead look like lots of small individual lights and personally I don't like that so much.

Hey OnePlan, The measurements up there are with the walls insulated. It's currently bigger than that, but I've pulled the side walls in 30mm each to get round the nibs, and for additional insulation. As for my office, I'd like it to be a social space too. Personally I use a dual monitor setup on a PC, plus 2 laptops for work use. I was thinking about a whiteboard, sofa, large desk and storage. I love my gadgets, most of it is home automation type stuff, so I can add that in once I know what I'm doing with the lighting etc. Like most people, I have a cupboard full of crap in my smaller office - all the stuff you need, but don't use often! It's more of a gaming/office room if I'm being honest. I'm not after your traditional office setup as I don't need a lot of that equipment. Also, the room isn't that far away from the kitchen, so coffee machine, water access etc isn't required As for heating, I was considering underfloor heating, but not sure how effective it would be. The floor is currently raised off the original concrete garage floor. I haven't had a look underneath yet, so not sure if insulation has been added, and not sure how I'd go about adding it on a raised floor anyway! I'd rather keep away from fuel type heating if I can, adding a log burner would take up limited space, and would also be a pain, and costly to install!
