What species of wood on the floor

Hi - would you mind sharing the species of wood used on the floor? Also the manufacturer and style name?

Hi kdada! Timber floors are spotted gum, 140mm wide boards, secret nailed, satin finish. we generally specify the german sealers as they are the best quality and do not yellow off over time. We like our timber floors to be tough and durable but still looking and feeling like timber not epoxy plastic. The timber supplier was a city based retailer. cant remember who off the top of my head. E D I love the way that you say what you think, yet without being at all rude, and totally funny....... it's an art form, and I look forward to your comments, they cheer me up. I always worried about what people will think and if i've said the right thing, the wrong thing etc............it can make you a bit anxious and I really wish I could stop doing it. Maybe a New Year's resolution coming?? I had this myself recently - I ended up I did go with a wooden table - a vintage one with multiple shades so it would still contrast and not look too much/samey. I also put a jute rug beneath mine and once you dress the top with a runner and a plant/vase etc it looks great. Alternatively white always works and I love concrete but expensive - concrete resin - metal can also be a good option - I wouldn't go with glass - I feel it's dated.

If considering wood you could get unfinished wood installed. Companies such as Wood Floor Accessories are a great supplier. Having it finished on site means a finish can be picked that works for your home. Each home has variables such as pets, different traffic and the owners desire to maintain the flooring or aversion to maintenance. Having wood finished on site has advantages. You can pick the highest quality product that works for your budget. The range of finishes available is quite wide. A professional company will try to understand your home and recommend the appropriate finish. They will also understand how easily the finish was can be renovated in the future. Amtico is an extremely robust product but being plastic, is just plastic flooring. It has its place, as does wood. In areas that have plenty of light surfaces, scratches show very easily on Amtico, Karndean etc. The manufacturers push a polishing maintenance product on consumers. However, this needs to be stripped and reapplied on a regular basis.

You can’t beat Oak. Timber prices have more or less doubled over the past few months. Oak has beautiful grain but if it’s down to budget then either of the others you suggest would do the job.
