Arts & Crafts Bedroom Wallpaper Dilemma
Comments (85)It looks great, I'm glad you and your daughter are so pleased and she has lots of room for friends over, playing etc. It can also be easily and cheaply adapted as she grows if she wants. My only criticism (if you can call it that) is that if not already your daughter may soon also want the desk to double up as a dressing table and therefore I think a mirror was a good idea but the memo board (which looks great) can always be moved as and when needed. (I thought i'd posted a comment on that previously but obviously not!). I might also add a desk light there for working during winter months. So which room next?!...See MoreArt Deco fireplace dilemma
Comments (37)The problem is the stark cold white walls against the soft warm browns of the fireplace. I don't recommend going all beige but try colours from the same warm spectrum as the fireplace and I think you'll find it looks more natural in the space. Also, the round candles don't work with the squares and oblongs of the fireplace; find other accessories that enhance rather than scream at the shapes and colours and that could make a huge difference. So could a mirror or picture above it - it would shift the focus so the fireplace doesn't dominate. Work with it, not against, then judge it. These fireplaces are handsome; trying to pretty them doesn't work....See MoreArt or Mirror advice pls?
Comments (27)Gerty I got my rug from John Lewis, but there are some great online rug sellers, just check reviews first and pay by Paypal, just in case! Don’t forget if rug is bought online, and therefore unseen, you can return it within 30 days as your Distance Selling Rights. I would check their Returns Policy first to ensure they are correct and in line with the law....See MoreArt Gallery Style TV
Comments (50)I’ve disliked the black tv for decades, and wondered why the frame was usually black. We did have a white Sony tv in the 80s, though the off screen was still black... My solution was to make a felt ‘painting’, on a wooden rod, and drape it over the tv when off at the mains. I also painted a piece of paper to do the same. As I always turn the tv off at the mains when it’s not being watched, it’s perfectly safe. They’re still very ugly items, but maybe one day they’ll simply be a small gadget projecting the picture onto a wall space....See MoreOcean Clarke
