new to the site. Where can I purchase this island or is it custom?

We are purchasing a home with an outdated island with a cooktop, I want this one and hopefully to take that out and put this one in isn't a struggle
Could you help me?

Happy to help. This island was a custom design by our firm. It's definitely something you could configure yourself and have installed by your contractor. This island is 9' long and 4' wide to accommodate the large Viking range and allow workspaces on either end as well as bar seating. Using standard base cabinet sizes and the appliances you want to incorporate, you can design something on your own to work in your space and accommodate your needs and wants. When the kitchen is the heart of the home it can really get you down when it's in desperate need of updating. From your ideasbook it looks like you are leaning towards a fresh neutral shaker style kitchen, the same as you had before and if that's what you love why mess with it. I would say think a little about what works well with the style of house as well and try and get something that fits well with it. This means it not only sits well with the architecture of the building but when you came to sell doesn't jar with future purchasers. A kitchen is a big investment so it best it works hard for you both while you own it and when you came to sell. If you want it just for yourself and aren't worried about future buyers then maybe a color on your units would bring a fresh edge to something you already love. Best of luck!

Definitely lose the wall. Is the fireplace in use? If not, maybe you could also build in front of it. ( Maybe you could have the hob where the fireplace is in the corner? ) I see also that you've gone for a free standing fridge freezer taking up 1.6m of space. integrate in to the island or long run of units and have more units in the freed space. I think once you lose the wall then you've got plenty of room for your island, in face plenty of room for everything, just get a good kitchen designer on the case. Maybe consider some irregular shapes if you can utilise the fireplace area? I'm no kitchen designer, but those qualified i've seen come up with some amazing designs to unify odd spaces. !! Safe to say one thing though, i think it should be fairly easy to use more than the one wall. Good luck!

It's Schuller and the designer only drew what I wanted. He hasn't given me any alternative layouts yet. Do you think they will make another design for me before I sign the contract? To be honest, It's been so so hard for choosing a kitchen brand because of people's attitude in the North East. I went to Howdens and Wren as well as Bespoke but the owner of Howdens wasn't nice and didn't give me any information because I asked for a business account and mentioned about my builder who has a very good partnership with him. So he didn't want to give me any prices. Wren's designer was very rude and had a terrible attitude but I quite liked Wren's true handleless design only if I had a well mannered designer. Bespoke designer was very experienced and quite liked but they don't make true handleless. Also he said I have to be committed other than that he wouldn't give me any quote and if I am not buying it's wasting his time. I couldn't believe he said that. Lastly, I went to Schuller and I expected that it will be very expensive but it was actually a lot less than Wren and designer and the owner was so polite and quality in my eyes was very good. All in all quite happy with them except they don't make custom sizes.

So sorry Daisy English is not impressed with Howdens, I purchased my kitchen from them in Bolton and could not be more pleased. I downsized from a large house with solid oak kitchen units and marble worktops (which after time do stain, whatever anyone tells you) and moved into a much smaller property. With the help of the designer at Howdens she and I designed a kitchen more suitable for my needs, all the units are just to my taste and the appliances are excellent even the oven cleans itself, everything is in there, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave, second oven, pan drawers, pull out pantry, hob, and extractor fan and sooooo important wine rack, streamlined and so easy to keep clean. Incidentally I have no connection with Howdens, just a satisfied customer!
