Hand made ceramic tiles from Morocco. I have seen similar ones in Bert and May in London

Hi there, We have an assortment of floor tiles that you could choose from! I'd recommend any colour that's darker than the wall tiles, as it should mean you won't find yourself constantly worrying about cleaning up after yourself.

You're welcome! This is an exciting project and I really hope you'll share the results, whatever you decide to do! I think metro tiles are the right way to go. You've already got pattern and bold colour covered so something more simple is probably right for the walls. Besides, it's a classic design. You could do it with a dark grout if you wanted to make a bolder statement. [This Houzz story[(https://www.houzz.co.uk/magazine/decorating-10-different-ways-to-use-classic-metro-tiles-stsetivw-vs~25104664) about metro tiles shows them mostly with dark grout and might help you visualise it. Marble would definitely work and look incredible. Just be careful to bear in mind the structure of the unit and how much weight it can hold. You have to consider the weight of the surface material, the sink, and the water it would have in it when full. Maybe even think about what you're going to fill the cupboards with and how heavy that could be. Perhaps it would be worth reinforcing the vanity in some way. Other than marble you could use tiles or just varnish the surface really well. All of these options will look great in different ways. Even though you're not DIY-ing it, take a look at this "how-to" to give you a better idea of the process. A picture would really help! A large landscape mirror is a good bet in narrow hallways, as long as the frame is not obstructive. A dado rail will help break up the height (so giving the illusion of more width), and allows her to paint a bolder colour below the dado without making the space too dark (white or off white above the dado). Maybe even a picture rail too. She could use satin eggshell under the dado, it’s tougher and more easily cleaned than emulsion, and also has a sheen to reflect light. A large coir mat near the front door, spanning the full width of the hall, to help keep things clean and also reduce the visual length of the hall (to help it look wider)
