Hi, If you use an iPad you could download the free Dulux Visualizer app to look at different colours - it's quick and easy (but lighting conditions have to be good) For a cost effective transformation I would have to agree with you and most of the comments by painting the Front door, garage doors and windows of the house. (Use a good primer/undercoat like Zinsser external - shellac or oil based) I would advise all matching colours for a uniform country home feel. The olive green or light green looks nice. For the driveway you could go resin bound which is available in a variety of colours now and lasts much longer than Tarmac with far greater osmosis. Again adding the private home country estate feel at a reasonable price. Rendering comes in various colours (although it is costly) if within your budget will totally transform the look and feel adding to the thermal insulation. And most definitely some easy care, low maintenance plants and planters... You don't have to spend mega bucks! Although probably a good time for discounted evergreens? Good luck Edward eDECO

I was thinking about why your husband is not keen on using it. Personally I find myself feeling unable to relax in a conservatory because of a lack of privacy. There are two solutions to this problem- you could treat it like a room and add surround. I would probably buy lots of muslin and tent the ceiling and drape it around curtain poles, ponding the curtains on the floor. Alternatively you could fill it with tall plants, make it feel like an old fashioned Victorian glass house and add a small bistro table and chairs. Lastly perhaps because this was formally your work space he doesn't feel like it is part of the house. Perhaps he should be come up with a plan for how to use it.

I think you could try the TV where you've suggested but I wonder if you've ever had your living room and dining room swapped over? I know some people don't like entering straight into the living room but it does seem a little larger from the floor plan and you could create a hallway effect by having a console table/shelf, mirror/ coat stand etc by the doorway (maybe items you already have or can pick up on FB marketplace very cheaply) . It would then mean your dining space is more connected to the kitchen. Although it looks like you currently use the space as a home office as, well, sometimes it can appear like a large hallway/corridor rather than reception room in its own right as you use it to walk through to the rest of the house. If you have trouble visualising your outside space as a nice seating area some buyers will too. I've attached some photos for inspiration. Some are obviously staged and they must have to put a lot of thecstuff away at night but you get the idea of how seating, soft furnishings and greenery can make the space much more attractive. Some of hard landscaping on these pictures aren't very nice but they eye is detracted from them with the other stuff going on. A much more functional layout can be achieved in the existing room by flipping the existing hob and fridge freezer. It looks like you are currently losing a good 30cm or so of potential counter and cabinetry space next to the doorway, and it would give you a longer counter run between sink and hob. I would also add a long bank of shallow low cabinetry alongside the wall between the 2 doorways, which would give you quite a lot of additional storage space without interfering with the walkway or sight lines. Plus the narrow ledge there could help keep clutter off your work surfaces. In terms of dining space, you could lose your unloved peninsula and then add a small table and chairs. You would have to squeeze in the 60cm oven into the main work area, but 30cm would be gained by the fridge move, and another 20cm could be gained by swapping to a 60cm sink cabinet. (I assume it’s 80cm right now.).
