we need help with the living room / TV units !!!!
Comments (10)Hi. I would bring forward the sofa about 3ft forward from where it is now. Add a long console/sideboard etc behind the sofa (door ŵall) with a pair of matching table lamps and a set of 8/12 symmetrical art prints over the top. Add a console behind the sofa back facing the kitchen and accessorise (not with lamps!). Move the coffee table in front of the sofa. I'd move the tv to the other side of the fire and have someone make a cabinet to fit the tv just something similar to your yellow one). Pop a couple of lamps on this cabinet. Move the chair to the other corner (but not right in it) and pop a floor lamp or your existing one behind. I'd go for art over the fire, something with mainly a white background picking up a little of your colours. I think a light would be fine over the dining table, it won't lower the ceiling further as you've got the extractor, and as the table isn't symmetrical to the island I think it would work. Alternatively remove the light fitting and have an arc lamp on that rhs ŵall partly over the table. What ŵalls were you looking to decorate? Is the blue going? I think given the colours in the room I'd go grey, white or a duck egg could work for the main ŵalls....See MoreHelp - where to place TV in living room
Comments (4)I don't see how more furniture is going to solve your problem. It seems unclear, from the pictures posted, why you feel you have this either or situation. A proposed floor plan showing the new window size. would be useful I agree that it is a poor idea to put a tv over a fireplace. If the plan shows the seating it may be possible to put forward an alternative design solution....See Morewhere can I place the TV
Comments (10)Hi Carolina thank you so much for your effort. the corridor is not an option because it is where you access the living room; I made a plan of the living/dining only but as you can see, I placed a library where the corridor is: in front of the library is the access to the kitchen, and the second opening behind the right side of the table, is a semi wall with an opening to the kitchen: so the table must remain there and the TV cannot go to the corridor, else I cannot access the living. I tried the couch against the window but, it is in fact a window to the floor that gets you to the terrace, so it is very not practical (both windows on that side are access to the terrace). I was thinking of moving the library behind the couch to the wall in front and maybe hang the TV on that wall, with a wall mount that turns: not ideal because this library would make accessing to the table quite hard: if I cannot find another solution that is what I will do but I was hoping that the experts in this forum might have ideas... :-)...See MoreHelp needed to style my TV wall
Comments (3)I have gas fire and initially used wallpaper but it started flaking. Had to remove. Looked plain just painted so went for polished plaster. This photo is wallpaper before plaster and tv install. We used marble at base but extended it at base so it wasn’t so dominant at top....See MoreCMR Interiors & Design Consultations Inc.
