Comments (18)I think that is a double-track and they have a second, heavier curtain behind it. But even if they don't, I think that is what you should do for versatility and look. They actually have it built into the frame so it is hidden and super sleek, but I think you can achieve this look if you run it along where the angled ceiling meets the wall. I would take a picture of your room and what you like to John Lewis, or another high end store or specialist curtain maker and ask their advice for specifics. I was just trying to give you an idea that I hoped you would like! I'm sorry I can't be super specific, but I think you need to have these custom made to do justice to the room, the view, and to get exactly what you want....See MoreWindow dressing ideas!
Comments (9)Hi, take a look at these photos which show similar rooms to yours. It appears that your windows are close to the street so you may want to consider bottom up blinds to give you privacy without blocking the light (see below). These wood venetian blinds we installed show how you can control the light and your privacy too. They look similar to shutters, but take up less space, allow more light in and cost much less! Comments (18)minipie - Yes that is what we were thinking to keep the two side windows, I am just not sure if we are being crazy losing a window. I don't think we are as we will still have doors and front window but just wanted to get other peoples thoughts on whether it was worth the work or not. I do think it will make it more cozy , well hopefully. Carolina - I have never really been convinced by "fake" fires I personally think they always look quite cheap, although I haven't looked at bioethanol ones before so I will have a look at the links provided as things may have improved since I last looked thanks....See MoreYet another post about window dressing
Comments (42)Minnie, you have impeccable taste, everyone on Houzz agrees so don’t even try to dispute it! :)) Ikat is another great option, I’ll add it to my list. I’d visited a couple of curtain makers and had one come around to measure... While I am now more clear about either to have curtains or blinds in whichever room, choosing fabrics is still a struggle... I came home with some 12 samples books and only managed to confuse myself even further. Andrew is good at telling me what he doesn’t like/want, but when I ask for a decision between 2 options, he just says ‘whatever you want’ even when I had just finished telling him I can’t choose... Sorry, rant over; I think I am becoming less adventurous than I used to be and it frustrates me......See Morebookworm987
