Opinions please on colour choice for floor

Hello,
We have oak parquet flooring which has just been sanded back - we are hoping to avoid that yellow tone when we colour it and have opted to oil the floor as the tiles are too thin to sand again, so this is our only chance to keep as it is. The question is, do we choose one of the three tints which are oils from Osmo or do we keep it natural and just oil over - if so, will the oil give us that yellow tone that we've just sanded back!!! The tints are Osmo oils in terra, granite and black (starting left and going anti clockwise) and we would finish with a clear coat of oil in satin Matt on top. Opinions welcome - we need to decide by tomorrow morning!!! :-)

Comments (14)I would paint all the walls a soft buttery yellow - Restoration Hardware's Butter would be perfect. New window covering in the alcove could be a roman-style roll-up blind (you can find good inexpensive ones at K-Mart) that would pick up the tones from the wood floors and shutters. Art with red, gray and yellow matting hung in a grouping over the fireplace would add a classy touch. Your current furniture needs to be re-arranged in an attractive, more intimate way. Turn red rug the long way in front of fireplace and place couches across from each other on either side of the rug. Store some of the red striped cushions. Attractive but too many. Comments (12)You don't state if you are planning to keep the existing worktop and tiles. If these are to remain I would consider replacing Welvet with Strong White ( this works really well in a smaller spaces with dark worktops) for the ceilings and woodwork, use the Ammonite on the walls with Oval Room Blue on the cupboards and Worsted on the floor. Or if you prefer a more versatile more neutral approach which allows you to change accent colours without a major rework you could paint the floor using F&B Railings ( or use a similar colour stain to show the wood grain through which would add some interest) and paint the cupboards either Cornforth white or Purbeck stone. Comments (19)Hi Sal89, I love sparkly things, but I would accessorise with sparkles and glitter rather than the worktop in case you change your mind 5 years on.... I have just done my kitchen and I went for a crystal chandelier and crystal knobs and I think it looks fabulous and very "me". I can change it when I get bored for a very minimal cost! The rest of the kitchen is plain with mussel and lamp room grey units and a white dekton worktop. Another option you can also add a glittery roman blind too! I did look at the glittery worktop it Wren and saw it a cheaper version in B&Q that appears exactly the same!...See More
