Little girl bedroom/ Baby boy nursery

Hi everyone. We have recently been flooded so we've redone our whole house. We are now expecting a baby boy we only have 2 bedrooms and a loft conversion the loft doesn't have stairs just a loft ladder which my daughter can use with ease but it makes me nervous her using them through the night. So we decided to make the loft a playroom and have my daughter and new baby share. We were out of the house for 6 month and have only been home 2. So my daughters bedroom has been decorated exactly how she wants it. So I'm just wanting some advice how to add a little boy without changing everything. I know I'll have to get rid of some things but trying to make it easy. I'll also add pictures of the stuff for baby to give some idea of what it's like also furniture placement is an issue

It looks like a beautiful neutral room as it is- I'd probably just change the curtains and move some of your daughters toys into the playroom to make space for a cot and extra storage. Practically speaking how old will your son be until he can safely climb the ladder into the playroom? I'm just thinking it might be very difficult for you having them playing in different rooms for 3 years or so.... (and also making sure he doesn't climb the ladder unsupervised). Is there no way at all of getting a staircase in and then you would have the option of them having separate bedrooms at a later stage too.

I would recommend white painted walls. Add accessories that are colorful if you wish. You can change it anytime you want. Depending on the space, I would definitely add something like raw thick tree branch. You can then make some fairy doors on it in color. Interaction with a child making these doors :) I would also choose funky prints of animals over the decals. Or have some animal heads hung on the walls. Children loves cozy spaces canopy is the thin. I would recommend Numero 74. I love their range of colors and quality. Add some cool pillows. If you are into diy, make some. Paint on it, embroider, use different techniques to apply color and texture to the room. Have more than one lighting source: fairylights, floor lamp, etc. If you want something really cool: cover ceiling in polka dots. Don't paint it. You can cut out some cardpaper circles and stick it with blutack. Use different sizes one color rather than having different colors. Take it off when tired of it easily. Enjoy decorating the room :) V

I really like the grey chevron so I'm thinking maybe I could do that and incorporate pink and maybe blue or green. I did think of all white with pops of colour and I really like it but I think as easy as it sounds it's a hard look to master without it lookin like you just threw it together. plus I think it works best with primary colours and as I already have my girl we have a lot if pink.

I know what you mean and yes it would be great to get the stair case in and I will defiantly do it at some point but it is a pretty big job and I dont want to be disturbing everyone my daughter starts school in September my partner works full time and I'm pregnant so having renovations done now seams a lot and we've only been back to normal after the upheaval of living in temporary accommodation for 4 month after the floods while my house was getting done. Realistically we should of done the stair case then but it added a bit of extra time into being able to come home and after 4 month we were ready for home and our lease was up on the temporary house so we were working to a deadline. There is a stair gate at the bottom of the ladder as it sits on 2 steps so safely wise it's not a problem and I do have toys hidden away in different areas of the house so if they want to play in an other room they can. Logistically I can't see a reason why it won't work but decor wise it's a challenge.
