In our latest Houzz Kitchen Study we found that Houzzers' top kitchen design priority is having a stylish and beautiful kitchen. It's no wonder then that those who have improved their cooking spaces are spending more than 3 hours in their kitchens - every day! That's a lot of cooking, baking, socialising and working!
For those of you who are looking to upgrade your kitchens (perhaps to spend even more time in them), we have a fantastic competition! We've partnered up with top appliance brand Miele to offer 15 lucky Houzzers and their +1s, who are actively planning a kitchen renovation, a full day in Miele's Abingdon Experience Centre, 16 November (10am-3.30pm) The day includes a cooking demonstration by Masterchef the Professionals finalist Sven-Hanson Britt, a hands-on cooking experience, followed by a design consultation with a kitchen expert. You'll also enjoy a delicious lunch!
How to enter the competition:
Simply post a comment below telling us one thing you'd like to change about your kitchen and you'll be entered into a random prize draw. 15 winners will be selected. The competition closes at midnight, 30 October.

Comments (258)Latest advice appreciated on the best big induction downdraught hobs please (Berbel, Bora, Gaggenau, Siemens, Bosch or others). We want best steam and fat clearance rates, quietest motors, easy-clean (unsure re self-clean, ducted or recirulated air). Berbel's FaceBook page features lots of customer complaints regarding after-sales service and spare parts, but some seem due to Covid delays which we think is unavoidable; another mentions guests sitting "in a haze" from the recirculated air and obviously nobody wants that! Comments (29)Hello Billy, thanks for your kind comments! Yes it does look amazing :-). Yes, I'm having all Siemens appliances, the kitchen shop gets a good deal on that brand so I thought I'd go for it, otherwise I would probably have gone for Bosch or Neff if sourcing appliances myself. Miele would have been out of my budget. The ovens you see are 1 Siemens self cleaning combination microwave/oven and 1 combination full steam/oven. I think some new models are out already and if they are out, it means you can get the older model for a cheaper price, which is great unless there is a must have function in the new model you can't do without and the current Siemens ovens do look good anyway. If you've already decided on the brand, design and the shop, you can still ask for a discount, in fact most of the independent shops I went to did offer some discount when I asked ( not much discount but better than nothing ). Yes, having an extension built ( approx. 5.5m x3m ) with pitched roof, 3 velux and sliding doors ( as in picture ), the shell has been built, steels in etc now waiting for 1st fix for electrician. Btw, I don't mean to be nosey into your kitchen design but do you really need 4 ovens? I know we always see them in glossy magazines/photos and it does look good, I also wanted 4 ovens too for the look but then decided it was pointless if I didn't need to use 4 ovens and you would save some money too. On your island ( if you have space ), you could consider an overhang of the worktop on the opposite side of the sink so people could sit there, as I've heard from people with islands that when guests come over, everyone hangs around the island and those that don't have an overhang wish they did. You can chat with your guests whilst cooking/ preparing. If you have older kids and want to get them involved, they can sit on that side and perhaps help prepare too :-). 7 years agoI've just moved to my first home (well. Early moved in) and the kitchen is totally not usable. Having a chance to experience Miele appliances can help make Me and hunny make good appliance decicions (particularly hubby!!)

7 years agoI was honoured to be invited to be an 'expert' at this wonderful event. I spoke to several winners of this event and each one of them described how valuable and enjoyable the experience had been for them. I was lucky to have engaged with two different families both requiring help and advice around their kitchen design ideas. I could see they both left feeling they had learnt something and were challenged by ideas I presented to them. Thank you Houzz and Miele for a fantastic, rewarding day
