need ideas for living room

Have just moved into new home...looking for inspiration for my living room....I love the fireplace which is the focus of the room...would like to paint the surround white..thinking of grey feature wall behind it but worried this will clash with leather sofa....my current one will be getting replaced and would like to stick to a leather chaise sofa...help!

Hi. Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up an area I think a select piece of art would really make the space stand out, add interest, colour, texture and add a great talking point to the room.... Wow, what a big space! What is great here is that you have lots of room to play with. It really depends on what style you are going for. However here are some ideas! For the entrance way, a lovely console table would be a wonderful addition against the opposite wall to the door. Something reflective to help keep the place looking bright! This could be decorated with some accents like some bright flowers that really pop against the neutral wall. Maybe a little tray to put your keys and purse in as well! Can't see the space behind the door however maybe a statement coat hanger? Or it could even be placed in the left corner, near the double doors. For the living room space, I would keep the white chesterfield sofa and build around that. Scandi look is often, but not always,light wood or light painted furniture with pale walls, usually white. So I would paint the walls white or off white and I would paint the wooden fire surround white too (Satinwood). The bookcase and tv unit are quite pale so should work. The sofas aren’t really in keeping with that look as they are so dark, but you could add some nice light cushions in various cottons in pale greens, pinks, beiges and blues. A nice natural jute rug will go well too. Pinterest has a huge array of pictures to inspire you. It’s very easy to join and you can save pictures to a mood board.

Hi, the rooms look a bit too small for double beds, have you considered small double beds (120x190( instead of double beds (135x190)? Make sure you work with the correct measurements as this could lead you to make design mistakes you could regret. In terms of DIY, I would suggest making out the most of both wardrobes as this will allow you more storage and less furniture around. How many people you wish to get a dining table for?
