POLL: Shower curtain or shower screen?
Comments (37)Screen every time having tried both over the years, Maintenance - Mr Muscle Shower Spray does a pretty good job & every now & again, you do have to clean thoroughly the 'seal strip' at the bottom where it meets the bath (I was out-voted on getting rid of the bath in favour of just a lovely large shower unit or even better....wet room) :-( Ah well. Had the plumbers move the shower controls to the middle of the bath so we could still reach them without having to get wet by turning them on or making it impossible to reach round the screen on the bath - I would recommend that!...See MoreShower rail dilemma
Comments (6)The bath is 74 cm wide, so ideally it would be no bigger than that, and smaller still if I'm to avoid it clashing with the light fitting. I'd originally hoped to have something quite small with the curtain draping over the outside of the bath, but the builder has said this floor will get too wet. I've spent a lot of time on ebay, and have bought something, but it's too big really. The spider shower is a great idea, I've not seen these before, but unfortunately, because the bath is freestanding I need something that goes the whole way around as water can go down the back of the bath. Thanks for the idea though!...See MoreShower screen or shower curtain ?
Comments (7)You should factor in the cost of replacing the curtain frequently. A screen would cost about £50 on Amazon, and a curtain much less. But, you'll get mould on the curtain often, and the cost of replacements would soon add up. you might also want to think about visual space. The room will look larger with a glass screen as you can see through it to the back wall. An opaque curtain would create a visual block. Having said all that, there are advantages to a curtain. You could pull it all the way back when bathing children. (Check you see whether you have enough space to open the shower screen all the way. If so, there would be no difference; if not, the curtain would offer more flexibility)....See MoreCeiling mounted shower curtain Rod
Comments (1)Hi all, Has anyone managed to hack a curtain rail for a ceiling mounted curtain Rod. I plan to use 25mm stainless steel ceiling support brackets but can’t seem to find pure stainless steel curtain rails of 25mm. My fixtures are brass but lacquered brass curtain rails are even harder to find so my plan is to compromise and ‘mix metals’A lot of the companies supply these stainless steel effect or metal fixtures which will rust over time. I can’t have a shower screen due to layout , a badly placed window and lack of appropriate support. I find all the standard shower curtain rails quite hideous. I was too glad to be rid of the circular one I had. Any help would be appreciated. I have searched for weeks and am coming to the end of my bathroom renovation....See MoreCarolina
