what colour of carpet?

The walls will be Little Green Paint co delicate blue , a pale blue matt. The skirting is white and the curtains a dark blue linen . Bed is oak sleigh bed. Was thinking of pale grey carpet but not sure ?? Help

Just finished painting our living room farrow and ball Cornforth White. Wondering what colour carpet to go for any suggestions? Also, what colour accessories. Was thinking of black frames and a black coffee table. Lamps and a floor lamp.. TV will go on the chimney breast Any other suggestions?

I think i would have looked to stripping the floor too, but a nice overlayed wooden floor would be good. Try to steer away from the black and grey, it's going to look very cold. The T.V should be to the right of the Chimney breast and not on it. Otherwise the T.V becomes the focus not the fireplace. You also need to inject some warmth with an accent colour. Fiddes hard wax oil is great for floorboards Fiddes Either way with the floor you'll need a rug to add warmth and luxury back into the room, so go for thick and plush, I too like the grey one above.

Dear Claire, I'd choose wooden floors any day over carpeted floors as they're much more durable and give an airier feel, however if you end up agreeing with your husband on having the room carpeted I'd recommend a warm grey carpet like my design shows below: When it comes to a wooden floor a whitewashed look might look modern but could provide too harsh a contrast, instead I'd opt for a mid-tone warm grey or pale brown.
