Disaster family room - please help!
Comments (10)You could cover the short wall at the back in (white) storage. This Eket system from Ikea has the option to add some colours too. I'd do the main part white and add perhaps some orange & pink (referring to the copper in the kitchen) and/or blue open storage boxes. Also add lights and lots of bright coloured cushions on the sofa. Ikea also has LED light panels with wireless control, that you can hang on the wall above the sofa. You could hang three in a row for example, or hang 6 or so together to form a fake window....See Morefamily room needs decor... need some help.
Comments (10)It’s a lovely room but due to the number of doors it doesn’t feel quite like a room in its own right. I might consider painting the doors in the wall colour which will help enormously (you could also add curtains), As celery girl said I think a large rug where the front feet of the furniture sit on the rug will also have the same effect and also agree re the plant and art. I would add an accent colour and bring in both texture and pattern. I think the room would also benefit from a floor lamp and table lamp/s to cosy it up. It’s hard to make shopping suggestions as you’re not in the uk but perhaps post things you find for comment? I’d also move the water dispenser by the stairs...See Morelayout help family room
Comments (5)How often do the bar stools get used? If not very often you could butt a long (extending?) table directly up to the peninsular with up to three chairs either side. Extra dining chairs could be stored as bedroom chairs if you ever need to pull it more centred into the room to use each end of the table. But on a daily basis this would give you the option of keeping a sofa (in whichever position you prefer of where you've got them now) and perhaps replacing the other sofa with a shallow sideboard for more storage or poss to place the tv above so it can be seen from most areas of the room....See MoreKitchen diner family room Help needed.
Comments (17)I’m sorry but I’ve got no idea how to do that. I mean to have your kitchen along the wall where the door opens into the garden, then from the left hand side wall you could have a breakfast bar/units coming out parallel to the kitchen with the sofa behind the bar area facing the wall opposite the kitchen. The tv would be on the left hand side on the wall opposite the kitchen/sofa. The dining table could then be put on the right hand side near to where the door goes into the hallway. I hope I’ve explained that a bit better....See MoreAlexa B
