Comments (7)The copper coloured containers near the stove and the yellow colour in the kitchen gives me the cue as to what to do. This is more a contemporary styled kitchen. I would infuse it with bold and bright coloured equipments, utensils to take advantage of the dark backsplash. Bold and bright colours such as red, yellow chrome or copper/gold will help take the focus away from the cream that is irking you. If your coffee machine is new then replace it with crome and red one. I would have a coloured caddy and for the utensils. Brighten up the area near the microwave and your kitchen will look classy. Do away with black - An obvious contrast to cream and white but with a dark work top and backsplash, not the best choice....See MoreFireplace Surround Colour
Comments (2)Hello Headers13, Firstly... Looking good! Think you have quite a bit of light!... so I would say based on the size of the room, I'd suggest Down pipe.. I love the off black and Railings but think with the black cabinets it would be too much black... Down pipe I think will be perfect with the size of the room and the dark elements already purchased... . I have grey fireplace and I wish I had gone with a charcoal but it's large. .. If any doubts get some testers... paint onto paper and stick them on the chimney breast, look at them at different times of the day, to see the change in light and what you naturally veer towards... that will tell you what to go for! ... I'd like to suggest a copper, brassy mirror to go overhead... Grey or navy with gold is really spectacular, It will be fabulous when it's finished ! ... : ))...See MoreBefore and After fireplace surround painting.
Comments (21)Thanks. Oh yeah, we're definately doing other rooms ! The whole house from top to bottom eventually. This room was top priority as it's the sitting room, we wanted to put our 'stamp on the place'. We've only been moved in since the start of the year. This is the before room, taken from the Estate Agents listing: .......... And now (trying to take a pic from the same place) The conservatory is hard to change, pic taken from the Estate Agents listing: ....... And now (taken this morning) - currently has our old sofa in there until we find some conservatory furniture that doesn't look like it belongs in a 1970's old peoples home. Only change is really the addition of blinds The study pic taken from the Estate Agents listing: .......... and now it's my man cave / music room And then .............. The current kitchen is getting ripped out and a new one put in starting 30th May. There is also a dividing wall that's being taken down between the kitchen and dining room to allow for a breakfast bar and a much bigger space. Designs from the kitchen people below Oh, and the double garage is slowly taking shape into the gym: Sorry for picture overload....See MoreTo paint or not to paint Fire surround?
Comments (5)Your room is lovely and I really like the black coffee table and side table. Black always lifts a neutral room. The fireplace surround is nice, but I think it would be better painted white, or for more drama, black. A rug would be nice but I don’t think the room really needs one, and i love a rug!...See MoreN J
