Bathroom makeover - any suggestion?

Hi all,

I recently have got a flat and terrified with the shower wall.
I'm struggling to pick what colour/tiles to replace the turquoise wall in the shower and behind the sink. The rest of the bathroom tiles are in really good condition so not planning to change it.
Could you kindly share some suggestions in order to match the current tiles? I will be changing the sink, the toilet and shower also. Thank you

i personally would go for two shades lighter than your other tiles and of a much smaller size.

you can also use the pebble like tiles for your shower area and floor but make sure whatever you choose are suitable for wet areas good luck

Hi jo. I would try and play on the industriał vibe. Clean the metro tiles and maybe paint the blue tiles and border in grey. Paint all the pipes in copper (Im pretty sure you can do this). Update the taps. If you're on a tight budget and will redo the bathroom at some point, just get cheap ones. They won't last but should last long enough until you refit. If you really hate the floor then go for some wood effect vinyl. Get a statement piece of industriał art/sign to put on the wall. I can't work out, what is the wall covering behind the toilet?? In terms of the shower, do you have a handheld one at present?

Morning Paulouise! I'm one of the designers here at Bathroom Eleven, in Surrey. White is definitely a way to bring lightness to a room, however, do always bear in mind the practicality of things like a white floor... it shows up a lot of towel fibers and dirt! A few things I would bear in mind when creating a brief with a client for this kind of bathroom is: - feature walls; a great way to create a sense of depth, particularly with that back wall of the bath/shower area - Keeping textures simple and not overcrowding. A usual error made when wanting to implement more storage is placing something wherever it will fit. Inevitably, this will make the room feel smaller as it will make the walls feel closer and create shadows on the floor giving the illusion of losing floor space - Lighting! Lighting is key! Feature lighting to eradicate shadows is a great way to make floor space feel bigger. - Wall hung Units and WC - keeping things off the floor will give the illusion of a bigger footprint to the room - Mirrors. If you can afford the space to have a nice big mirror on the other wall, that would help to give the room extra width, too. I hope these tips help! I think painting the walls grey as suggested will help immensely with bringing the tiles into the scheme. The suite apart from the sink looks alright though, I would change the sink to a more modern shape and then you could include storage underneath. I had to replace a sink in my bathroom but I matched the dimensions of the original and there was no damage or repair work needed. An alternative sink could be rectangular in shape and this could cover any gaps in tiling etc. Left by your existing sink. Duravit do a good quality cheap one. I would change the window though as it is unattractive but I guess that might be a longer term job!

I think katie is right - definitely something lighter and brighter than the surrounding tiles as it doesn't look like there's any natural light in this space.

Personally I would go for a pale marble - if you order a few different samples you should be able to find one that picks up on the tone in the remaining tiles.
