Comments (10)Your inspiration photo is good - the dark grey colour and the panelling (paint looks like Farrow & Ball Downpipe to me) would look great on your fireplace wall. Paint the other walls off white or very grey. I would get rid of the fire, it's tiny and not much of a feature, I would put the TV on the wall in place of the fire over a console table which could have lots of lovely things on it. You would then have room for your winged back chair on the wall on the left now the TV has moved. I would give the storage units a lick of chalk paint either in a off white or charcoal grey and change the handles to make it look more boutique and then it's down to the accessories, bring in some more green. I would probably get rid of the smaller unit and replace with a small side table on either side of that sofa with a lamp on each table. Above that sofa I would add a sunburst mirror or a statement piece of art, or a collection of mirrors. Add art to the wall where the winged back chair is in dark frames....See MoreWAINSCOTING JOB KUANTAN

Comments (6)If the wardrobe fits in your room, go for it. It's really nice! I'd go for light grey carpet and paint and an upholstered bed, to soften it all. I also think that an upholstered bed looks more luxurious. You could pick a darker colour for the wall behind the headboard. Then you could use wooden night stands to tie in with the wardrobe. What do you think of something like this Matson bed from Next? It's on feet, so you can see the floor under it which will make the room visually larger than a bed that goes all the way to the floor. It comes in different colours and fabrics. This bedside table is the Bronx, also from Next (just because I had their website open anyway). On my screen it looks like it comes fairly close to the wooden door of your wardrobe. I've only picked some examples for you to visualise what you could choose. I'm sure there are lots of shops with similar items, if you like the look of what I've picked :-)...See MoreConsistency Between Staircases?
Comments (6)Your house your choice. I would keep the stairs consistent but that's because I prefer to consider the whole house when chosing colours. If you want a different moody scheme downstairs then that's your choice. If you are not planning on selling or moving soon do what you like. I think having the balustrades the same is more about coherence than playing it safe. Could you paint a bit and see how it looks first? I would scour Houzz for stair examples....See MoreWainscot Solutions, Inc.
