Furniture colour- black stained or light brown?
Hi so I'm furnishing my newly built apartment and I would like ur opinions regarding the colour of the furniture that would be appropriate. The floor is a light beige and grey mixed tiled one, walls and ceiling are plain white. Any ideas? These are the two colours I need to choose from:)

Comments (14)These additional pictures might help. the oak tv cabinet is destined for the dump. The white built in cabinets will go across the whole of the wall the tv is on now from one wall to the other. In the process they will swallow up the existing built in cabinet and the sticking out bit of wall where the room was extended at some stage in the past. the room is horribly bland at the moment. Comments (8)Hi Suzie, could you perhaps do something a bit out of the box and choose something that is a splash of colour? Like a found object? Chinese ceramic stools? you can also go to vintage fairs etc. Or some companies source and stock interesting pieces. I quite like the idea of timber for your chest of drawers etc. Difficult to visualise the space thought! Colour choice is pretty personal. I am partial to blues and purples.. but that is just me! 7 years agoI do like the sofa, but just worry that the wood is a little dark, and maybe an oak finish would sit better with the floor than a mahogany. I disagree with the above comment about the accent chairs and particularly like this one, the colours are earthy and will sit with the floor well. The legs should be changed to an oak colour though as the black is not nice.
Maybe something like these would be good. Green goes well with your flooring, however, if all green is too much for you, then a grey with green accents will match the floor and the chair.

The brand of the tile is granicer and then colour is "Lucas almond"
This isn't going to be a formal room. Do u think a fully cushioned L sofa in beige /grey would be a better option? Also I could go for an oak coffee table.
How about a teal coloured accent chair? I love that colour and I feel it may actually go with a plain beige/ grey sofa.
Also what kind of dining table n chairs would be best for this floor?

7 years agoDo you think this is the floor? It's the one I found earlier as I can't find that tile name on their website! I think an oak coffee table would work. I like the idea of a grey corner sofa with a teal chair against the warmth of the floor. Is it a living/dining room or separate rooms? How big is the space as a glass topped dining table would give the feeling of space?

You can mix wood tones with black accent furniture, different tones can look busy however if you choose a few key pieces it can really bring together the feel of a room. As the ceiling and walls are white you have a great base for any colours you wish.
Use lamps and candle holders to tie in black furniture, As you can see grey and light wood works great, it looks really warm.

7 years agoHi Carolina! I think uv got a point there, the sofa does look uninviting. I'm gonna have to look for a fully cushioned one:) thanks for making me realize it. I'm gonna go with the teal highlights and oak coffee table.
I'm still unsure about the dining table though. Any thoughts?

So what kind of kitchen will yours have? It would be useful for us to know the colour of that, since it's all open plan.
I made a sort of moodboard for you of what I'm thinking. I did it with your original sofa choice and slipper chair choice in mind. Wanted to show you a slightly more square slipper chair with a more modern graphic pattern. Don't look at the design of the other sofa, I picked it more for colour than for shape. Just to show you a darker beige. And it goes nicely with that chair. But I like the cream or your original choice too. Will see if I can make a grey version for you and/or something with teal.

7 years agoSince I do like the black or espresso coloured wood for a coffee table, I thought I'd show you this photo as a possibility for a dining table and chairs. Especially if your kitchen will be a much lighter wood than shown in the pics. You could also go for dark wood table legs/base and a glass top.
Just my personal opinion: I'm not a fan of the type of chairs you showed in the photo above, with the glass top dining table. I just think that the half covered base makes the chairs look heavier than necessary.
