Comments (24)So the whit bit sticking out shows the nib of the original wall that the steel sits on. It’s not that deep now but we are waiting on building regs to confirm the min size we can have. It’s just to the side of the chimney breast so will only be about 400mm deep maybe? Or less as we are building out the alcoves to insulate them so it won’t fit a rad on it. I can put a vertical one by the dining room window wall - think we have about 650mm width there. And a larger one behind the dining area that we could turn down if it gets too hot? There will be space behind the chairs as the table will sit under the rooflight which is about 600mm from the wall side....See Moreanthracite or lacquered bare metal RADS?
Comments (29)I can’t remember what the company was now (unless I put the link in the thread?) I went to a bathroom showroom who had some raw metal ones but they were shiny. You can’t tell from the picture as I wanted bare metal look at the time but they have to coat them to stop them rusting apparently. Think the company I got my rads from said the bare metal was quite plain and just a dull silver grey colour. I just remember not being as impressed as some of the images I saw online. Guess it depends on the look you want as well although mine still fit in well with the brick wall etc...See Morehow to pipe this RAD in?
Comments (14)Oo, never thought about running it up into the ceiling! There are some existing pipes capped in the middle of where our back wall was which had a rad on ie so in line with that brick nib but maybe 1.5 further away. They can extend them up to the nib which is suspended floor and then they could go up the wall or across the wall maybe? Not sure what size pipes he would be using but I’ve got a new guy coming Monday at 7am to sort it for me. I wanted to work it out beforehand in case I needed to do any prep work so he’s not held up as he is only here for an hour or so :0/...See MoreWorking out door size
Comments (2)That would be a lovely spot for French doors. Is there a reason you want a door and a smaller window? I think getting a reputable window and door company in to do the whole job would be easier and it will be done in a day. The only way to guess the cost is to get quotes in....See MoreBest Heating
