What are the pavers set in and what brand are they?

The pavers here look great, I was wondering the brand name and how they are set. It looks like they're surrounded in very fine gravel.

Hi Melba, these are our Dark Grey granite paving slabs used as stepping stones. They are 600 mm x 800 mm x 20 mm thick and laid on a bed of mortar, surrounded by our 6 mm Silver grey granite gravel. I'm on the west coast of Canada, unfortunately for these pavers. They look quite nice and would have used them in some of my projects if they were a bit closer ;) thank you!

Kitchens are a big expense - especially the chairs so I would match them to the units - the set you showed matches the colours of the chairs with the units really well, BUT, 1. The pine top doesn't work and 2. You need to add a bit of pzaz to this space. You can paint or cover the pine top with whatever colours / textures you choose as accents then follow these colours through into the pictures and the odd accessory (but don't go mad and keep most of the kitchen utensils and tools in the same colour as the background so they 'disappear' - only use subtle accent colours on gorgeous items so they stand out). This way, if you get bored with your scheme you can just change the accessories and the table top colour rather than the whole lot. Feel free to email me for more help. We are in the market of selling luxury furniture, so would recommend quality and style above all. If you can afford luxury new items thats all very well, they are beautifully made and offer gorgeous styles that can stand the test of time. However, we also understand not everyone has the budget to be able to do so. If your budget is lower, be savvy and buy traditional or contemporary pieces at auction. Use your imagination and buy quality second hand furniture and accessories that are design classics for a fraction of the price. Use interior design techniques that feature colour and textures to bring out the best in your choices. You can then incorporate inexpensive items as long as they are interestingly designed. Inexpensive ....and dull...is definitely not an option.

Hi Ocean Home Designs, There are many pro's and cons when installing a floor prior or after the kitchen. An advantage with fitting prior would be it makes life easier to fit a kitchen on top off, as the levels would be a lot easier to work from. Another benefit would be, the flooring will be easier/quicker to install with no kitchen obstructions to go around. On the other hand, some would rather not waste material by going under the units as the floor would just be covered over and never seen again, hence making a saving in material & fitting costs.

I would definitely wallpaper the cupboards judging by the styles and images that are influencing you. Maybe try a really dark colour over the tall shelving areas you can see, such as Annie Sloane's graphite (which I can vouch for as a good solution providing you let it cure properly, a min 24hours after waxing) before popping your stuff back in. Use the same paint on the outer edges of the cupboard fronts and frames, then take a bold, damask style wallpaper to finish the fronts, with some lovely antique handles. You could maybe use a little gilding wax just to lift the graphite a bit - a nice antique gold. You'd need to darken the work surface too. This sounds quite drastic, but I've done something similar myself (albeit it on a much smaller item). The colours are totally different here but hopefully it'll help you see what I mean.
