Need help with choosing a colour for my living room
Comments (20)maria galvano thank you, I love them too and make me smile whenever I look at them, I bought them from a Bedouin woman in Petra (Jordan). They remind me of an amazing trip to Syria and Jordan some years ago, travelling independently using public transport and meeting amazing people along the way, both locals and tourists. Loved Petra so much and the local Bedouin people, went back for a second day to have another look around as well as sit and drink mint tea and listen to amazing stories ... and yes, they make my home feel alive as most things in it have some connection to a life lived. Thank you again....See MoreNeed help choosing paint colour for church hall
Comments (3)Hello appydaysdevon, With artificial lighting I would suggest going with some warm tones. Also dense and chalky is my preference. Little Greene is often a suggestion with a range of many lovely colours including a grey palette, but I would stay with blue considering the carpet.... Team with something like Whitening which is a lovely chalky warm white. Should you decide to take a look at that one. I have used Dulux in the classics range.. Here Bone China might have been a nice choice if you want to stick with D for above the panelling.. Given you have a mid to dark blue carpet which will be fitted... It would be a nice idea to continue on this theme. Go a shade darker or keep to the same shade re the carpet. I'm intrigued by what is above the false ceiling... :))...See MoreNeed help for choose shades of grey for kids room
Comments (19)Hi Vicky, if you don't want a blue or beige undertone and the room is not very bright I think you may struggle to get a grey that suits. Just out of interest, why does it have to be grey? I think a lot of the images we see of grey rooms do have a blue undertone but the rooms are really light. It's a bit of a minefield. I would be tempted to paint it a just off white with perhaps one wall in a more saturated colour that picks out some of the accessories....See Morehelp needed on choosing wall colours
Comments (24)I wonder if you have space for something like this on the wall between kitchen and window. https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/storage-furniture/shelving-units-systems/veber%C3%B6d-shelving-unit-natural-art-10343328/ Scroll through the pics on that page to see them with stuff in them, so you can get an idea of how they would work for you. Maybe two of those? It will give you lots of storage and won't block the ventilation (hopefully). You can clamp a light on it, on the kitchen side, to give you light above the counter. With the central light you'll be casting a shadow on the counter/cooktop, so you'll be working in your own shadow. It's just an idea :-)...See MoreA B
