jayant_d this is a custom glass window that sits flush with the benchtop to avoid seeing the window frame.

The design layout could do with changing if this is a two chef kitchen - as currently hob and sink share same floor standing space, the DW when open blocks the walkway - oven is danger to anyone opening door... The FF is not what you want - the list goes on !!! Difficult to help further with no sizes - I could guess from the doors - but no head on shot of the right wall so a bit tricky - this could be a 'very quick' job as a sketch consult on an hourly rate, if you want pro help - drop me an email ! If you were thinking of using ikea for example - you could buy and have installed the carcase's, drawers, worktop, sink and appliances and then add the facia fronts as and when you have spare cash - this would stretch your money a little further ... £4k is still a lot of money - invest it wisely !

Wow some great advice here, sorry I have not responded for a while. So far I've decided to definately have a deep single bowl under mount sink, I will take the advice to hide the machines behind doors. Also I am going to have the stacking kit as the folding board will give me additional useable space. I don't know if the cupboards in the middle will make the space look heavy? at 5"11" I fear I might be constantly bumping my head against it. My kitchen cabinets are pale cream from Howdens, do you think it would look odd if I have the utility cupboards a light grey with a bold tiled backsplash? Thank you all for showing my your utility rooms really appreciate your advice all your advice and would really like to see some more pics of your space saving ideas and how you made your utility rooms more functional. Did not imagine such a small space would give me so many considerations on how to get the space right.

Thanks for everyone's comments. This is really helpful and so nice to get such constructive and thoughtful comments. This is our first major project and builders got us to first fix and my husband is doing the rest of the work himself (kitchen, bathroom installation, tiling). This forum is exactly what it's all about - design advice and solution solving from those that have been there and done it. You're right Victoria - in an ideal world we could have had a higher windowsill (we're not keen on the counter top running into the window sill) but so hard to get every measurement spot on when you're planning a kitchen when the extension is just a shell. We're getting there though and really pleased so far. Just interior design and 2 bathrooms to go!

Hi thanks Daisy, So I thought it would be a headache trying to get it consistent, which is why I am looking at other designs which would still give a complimentary look. I have seen kitchens with a differently styled island and looks great! And yes I agree the terminology is not accurate, but I am just using the word for lack of a better word. Yes, so for that design I have attached above they have quoted £3.7k ish, but they are giving me a "special" VATless price which is just over £3k. Which is still quite expensive in my eyes, as this does not include installation. I had spoken to Wrens before and I believe they gave me a rough estimate of about £2k without installation. (Especially with the multi-buy sales) So I guess my goal here is to get an idea of different designs so that when I go in a few days, I can give the Wrens people a good idea as to what I want. Would a high-gloss black cabinets not work (with white countertop)? I kinda like the idea of Black and white high gloss contrasting. Or perhaps, high-gloss grey cabinets and laminate top. Or how about just a full white cabinets and top. I am trying to find the best design to compliment my current kitchen that is not the same design as the existing one. Thanks EDIT: All - Black this looks quite good no? Blue and White? I have blue curtains so this might work? Grey cabinets with marbley white counter?
