Any tips on which kitchen company to use to design and install for a m

My whole kitchen needs to be ripped out to the bare walls and replaced from scratch and I wonder if there are any recommendations for me, I live in Colchester ESSEX. I have a couple of quotes to be done next week after measurements have been done, Wren kitchens are one I've invited but has anyone any dealings with them?

Hi,

My personal experience with Wren was very positive with the designer talking us through multiple options and making valid recommendations. The delivery was on time with all items delivered in good condition except a few end panels which came up wrong. However customer service was efficient and sent replacement panels the next working day. After having the kitchen measured, we wanted to add a few things which were a delivered in 3 days.. Overall, a good experience despite negative online reviews

Wren have very bad reviews. There is a FB site for their disasters. Wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

Look at some of the small independent local businesses. They are normally cheaper.

I've just quoted a customer today against Wickes. I was £620 cheaper and it wasn't a big kitchen.

Stephen Edwards makes a really good point about the thermostat, and it works both ways (ie causing the heating to come on when you don't need it, as well as going off when you do!). Thermostats are often placed in the hallway, which can be colder than the rest of the house by cold air coming in through a draughty front door. It sounds like you have systemic problems to solve, but once those are sorted out you could look at draughtproofing, paying particular attention to anywhere that affects the thermostat. If you identify your letterbox as draughty you could look at fitting one of our letterbox solutions (we do a lovely stainless steel front letterplate as well as an inner letter box draught excluder), and if you have a pet that's going in and out through a draughty, rattly old catflap we do a pet door too. Hello Becki, So here is a shot of said board over the sink. It's not perfect as I didn't plan it to start with.... Ideally it would need a lip at the back so it doesn't dip. There are various ways of mounting the sink.. so depending on how you do this affects how you can situate a board over the top.. Front is fine as it slides and sits on the front of the sink.. I usually sit the board next to the hob as I put pans and things on it which is useful... With any other offcuts.. I made these into chopping boards.. cut to size rounded off the edges with sander. I stack them all 1 in front of each other.. Really useful way of using anything that might be going to waste... It doesn't have a sheen as it is not treated... I don't oil my chopping boards but wash and dry quickly.. Vegge oil could be wiped over with a cloth if you want to... : ))

The simplest way is to shop around with one plan so you can compare like for like. So work out the layout either yourself or with an independent pro like us. Then email or drop your plans and item list into all the showrooms that offer the look you are after. That way you are giving the retailers/trade counter/online shop what they need to price it. You won’t feel beholden to any particular showroom who you may have asked to spend time designing for you and you don’t waste ( yours and their) time with different planners/sales people from lots of places who each want to come and measure up etc . We've got 4.4m and are having 3 panels but it was a close run thing as I prefer the look og wider panels. We are south though so (hopefully) will be opening them more often. With 3.6m and in Scotland I'd be choosing 2 panels... ...*unless* you are going to have curtains which will hide each end of the doors even when pulled back, or furniture which blocks the ends. If that's the case then go for 3 so as to leave the centre clear as per above.
