Luv the barstools bc I need some wood in our kitchen to pick up on the beams! Cld you share the brand?!?!

How are they to sit on? Do they feel too low? If they feel the right height then I wouldn't bother changing them. I think they look fine and you don't want to squeeze your legs under and have to hunch over if the stools are too high.

I think I’d personally stick with something neutral then use the bright colours elsewhere. You could always paint the wall above the upstand in whichever colour you wish then protect with decorators varnish so it’s easy to wipe clean. For the cooker splashback you could use the same quartz as the worktop and upstands for a seamless look. Or... I think a sheet metal would look fab and fit in with the industrial aesthetic, something like a brushed or galvanized steel or an aged zinc. Cheapest option would be to replace countertop with extended version that allows use of flat wood flooring for a stool but this cuts into your living area. You could add thin kitchen wall units or shelf unit, floor mounted at back of breakfast bar to detract eye from change in height of the flooring. This extra storage would be great for occasional use items or cookery books. If you kitchen is a knock through, The step probably incorporates the bricks that made up the base of the removed wall or plumbing , electrics, so it could be expensive and messy to try to extend or reduce the higher level of flooring.
