We recently had a customer pondering whether or not to replace or refinish there bedroom furniture, we showed them example of our previous works and they decided to go ahead.

Fabulous to see people embracing sub-tropical planting. It's so effective used correctly and the development can be rapid! Just remember to have plenty of horticultural fleece ready for the winter. We've used lots of bananas, palms & tree ferns over the years and have never lost one with a bit of careful winter wrapping!

I would split the two larger rugs up do that they define one area each i.e. one for the living area and one for the dining. Putting the two together hoping they will look like one just doesn't work. The more decorative rug looks trapped under those chairs. It's too small to be used like that. It would work better under the coffee. Use it to ground the living area. The runner draws the eye too much. Looks like you take shoes off at the door? If so, consider getting rid of the runner. Any reason why the dining table sits at an angle? It's not clear from the photos if there's a door there. In its compact form, it's straight lines should be parallel with other straight lines in the room. The very tall gallery wall on only one side of the room throws the room off balance. The artwork is very muted, it all looks the same and is crammed into one corner of the room. Each piece should be given breathing room so it can be appreciated on its own as well as a collection. Consider moving some to the radiator wall and around dining table. Also consider a bolder piece for the fireplace. Cushions are an easy way to add character and colour to a room, so consider something bolder. Adding more plants would bring the room to life. If you are not keen on the maintenance they don't have to be real ones. If you've been there 5 years and have no plans to move a reasonable landlord should allow you paint the room any colour you want. If not, some landlords are if you agree to paint it back before you leave. If you landlord does agree then paint colour choices are endless.
