Colours for a hall with black and white floor?

We are very pleased with the look of our new kitchen - Ikea 'Veddinge' grey units, whitish surfaces, and black and white floor tiles. The tiles run right through to the hall and entrance. The tiny hall has no natural light and we propose part-glazed doors to bring light through from the front door and kitchen. But the colours in the hall need a re-think.

I like the idea of pale wood doors - light oak, modern panel style maybe. This is open for discussion, as are: the hall walls (creamy off-white), the woodwork (cream), and maybe the stair carpet (beige, difficult to change) - none of these go well with the floor.

I think that the key may be the choice of colour for skirting and door frame, but any suggestions for a style at the 'cool and clean' end would be very welcome, please.
