abstract wall!

ohhh I've seen this before!! and I absolutely love it! could I just paint something like this directly on a wall instead of using a pre-made mural??

I just received your messages. Sorry for the delay! Yes, you could paint an abstract directly on your wall. Or, if you wanted to take the image with you should you move, you could paint on masonite and then install the sheet on your wall. Good luck!

no worries. and although I don't plan on moving anytime soon (i just bought my first home. no more renting. lol). I will still keep the masonite idea in mind. I would have never thought to do that. thanks again!

OK all, I have a website!! http://www.lucianastatues.com/ It's almost finished, I haven't started on the blog or added an 'About' page, as I'm not sure what to write yet. It went live a couple of days ago but then had some glitches, and the absent-minded geek (I have his approval to call him that) who made the site told me not to advertise it until he takes care of them. Everything is working now; I could say I have 2 websites, as he built another one for me initially that I didn't like that much. It was probably the wet dream of a webdesigner, with lots of features and pop-ups and hexagonal inserts (don't ask...!) but just too fancy for my needs. So I told him to keep it simple, sat down with him for a few hours and hurray!! - I think he's done a great job. This site is just straightforward and easy in my opinion, simple to use and with large photos that help with seeing the details. I would appreciate some feedback though, so please let me know what you think. I'm still not sure about prices, I mostly charge by how tall the figure is and how much I like it:)). Next week is gallery touring, I'm going to Birmingham tomorrow to a craft fair, but mostly to look and maybe buy supplies, not to sell http://www.thenec.co.uk/whatson/hobbycrafts# My main problem at the moment is that I ran out of stock! :)) I sold a few more things, but they were commissioned, so they don't appear on the site. Didn't have time to make a lot of new pieces, so some of the stuff that's there is mostly things I would've liked to keep or had on reserve, but now decided to sell them. I knew starting all this will leave me less time to play...... Plus my geek gave me a task list with stuff to do to promote the website, and I'm supposed to write that blog every couple of days..... Anyway, my gratitude again for your help and support. As I said, I'd appreciate some feedback on the site. I do not tend to go for either specifically. It is what ever I am drawn to at the time or as AJ INTERIOR STYLING LTD said, it is what fits in with the existing space. It is such a personal decision and as long as I am drawn to it.. I do not mind. I recently went to the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Fair and there was so much variety and talent it was hard to choose between a lot of them and what I did like was a big mix!

Budget permitting, matching the curtains and bed spread and adding a pair of matching and/or coordinated pillow shams along with a coordinating solid color bed skirt could make the room more formal/decorated. Something interesting above the headboard, preferably something that reflects your family's interest -- art or something on shelving, preferably modern artsy shelving -- or even a pair of swing arm wall lamps above the headboard could be all the wall decoration you need. Choose something that would add your favorite colors to the room but, unless and until you find something you truly like, leave the walls blank. I agree with above posts - I would hang it lower so it closer to sofa. It looks too high IMO. I found this guideline - When placing art over a sofa or headboard, for instance, it shouldspan roughly two-thirds of the width of the furniture piece. Hang art so that the bottom of the frame is 8 to 10 inches above the furniture piece; the art should be visually connected to it, not floating high above it.
