What colour carpet and walls will go with the wardrobe?

Hi,

I have an attic bedroom with a creamy/magnolia coloured wardrobe at the gable end. I want to redecorate the entire room including replacement bed, carpet, velux window blinds, mirrors, dressing table, accessories etc in neutral colours like creams, whites, beiges and similar type warm colours, but i am stuck for ideas!! my girlfriend and I love this warm look but I don't want to replace the wardrobe as it was very pricey and i'm not keen on a very light coloured carpet because it can get dirty quite quickly, i want to surprise her before she moves in with me in a few months time.

What colour carpet and walls will go with the wardrobe?

I'd really appreciate your help.

Hi Apollo,

Do you have photos of the space? It always helps as it gives an idea of the size/amount of light in the room etc.

As far as colours go, from a purely theoretical view you should be able to put any colour you like with the wardrobe seeing as it cream, although I would avoid bright whites. You could go for a wood/laminate floor with a rug instead of a full light coloured carpet maybe?

Practicality
is one of the main reasons why white or cream isn’t the first carpet colour
choice as people are worried it will show up the dirt or stain easily. However

how about a wallpaper to the other 3 walls a black pattern with a light background or the other way around black background wallpaper with a lighter print on. It could tie the room together better. As its a tv room it will give a nice warm feeling to it. The tan sofa will sit nicely and you can add cushions that have tan and black prints. Prestigious and harlequin have on nice options or possibly villa nova. i have attached a couple of images both very different in styling depending on your taste.

Mixture, like a tweed effect of brightish with salmon-ish, some flecks of a slate blue and a very few of cream - sounds dreadful but is rather nice - better than it sounds anyway. Thanks for your suggestions, she likes the idea of a creamy colour for walls.

I think the sheen in this carpet will reflect what ever wall colour you choose and help them work together- but on this thread there doesn’t seem to be much love for your colour choice. For me the Teresa Green feels cool and fresh and the carpet feels warmer and richer. Personally with this carpet I would be considering Old White, Strong White, Blackened, Borrowed Light, Light Blue and strong colours such as Tanners Brown or Downpipe.
