My first home-advice desperately needed!
Comments (10)Agreed about the floors, they look lovely. In that case I would definately go for a pale grey curtain, or the room will look very white and the grey couches will stand out in a bad way I think. Or if you want to add a colour to the room, say blue for example, a pale blue curtain and then a rug with bits of darker or lighter blue on it would tie in a colour subtly. If you want to stick with the grey and white colours, I would go for a greyish or cream (darker than floor) rug with a pattern on it to make a focal point in the room. That info is all about the lounge. If you let me know the colour scheme and feel you want for the bedroom I can try and give some advice on that :)...See MoreMy first home-advice desperately needed!
Comments (11)Hi. Yes, to maximise the height of a room you would take the curtain pole close to the ceiling however I am struggling to visualise this with this pelmet as I'm not convinced it would give the same effect but it's too late to sketch it out! I think I would take the curtains (same colour as couch and maybe with a grey pattern or trim) to the ceiling and have a pelmet made that also covers the wood. .What is on the lounge floor at present? It look like marble in the pic. I don't think I would carpet it. I'd have a big glass coffee table with a silver rim sat on a light grey patterned rug. I'd add grey cushions to the sofa and add a silver/chrome floor lamp and large mirror over the sofa. The colours are neutral so add cushions maybe in a duck egg or colour of your choice. Finally a statement ceiling light and some art on the wall. Bedroom: I'd add silvery grey curtains to match your feature wall, again with a fabric pelmet. Add a large pale silver rug that sits under the bed and covers some of the floor to lighten the room. Dress the bed in the same 3 colours or introduce a shade of purple for cushions, throw etc. it looks a great house!...See MoreNeed some help on What colour Please - Please help
Comments (14)Greg think you have made a great start, just needs a few colourful statement pieces. Firstly the chest of drawers are fab, my suggestion if you like them would be to utilise them in the lounge either side of the radiator under the window, for storing what looks like cd's the other side of the fireplace in these. You could put the existing cubes either side of the two sofa's. I would ditch the rug in the lounge, and get something bold and bright such as cobalt blue with orange/yellow. In the bedroom, keep the IKEA drawers and paint them either black or dark blue and have them adjacent to each other on the back wall opposite the bed, with the TV on top as someone has already suggested. The art work is great, but would swap it over to where the mirror is and move that elsewhere. Again ditch the rug, maybe an animal skin would work well in here, keeping a masculine feel. Pick some of the colours from the artwork for a well chosen throw and cushions for the bed, and don't be afraid to use some other accessories such as vases, lamps and dare I say candles!...See MoreNeed some advice regarding our dining room!
Comments (18)hi I love the elegant look of this room. I particularly like the colour and style of your furniture (looks pinky tone on my pic which is lovely) I think you need a little more drama in there and agree paint chimney breast I would go really dark and moody to lift your wall paper and furniture like a chalky charcoal in silk to pick up shimmer in paper I would keep accessories in either silver or gold I would choose silver chrome to pick up the beautiful mirror which I love and feel chrome will give it a more edgey look. keep paintwork white to contrast. im not s lover of the corner unit and would go with ladder shelves in white or a drinks table in lovely chrome and lovely mirrored pieces thats what I see anyway but lovely starting point would not dismiss tinkering with it a bit more. lots to like there already...See MoreABA Architects
