New sideboard ideas

I would like to decorate my sideboard and the walls but I'm not sure on how?
My mantel is a dark wood colour so it would be good to include the same colour to bring it together.
Any ideas pls feel free to help.

Comments (4)A larger picture frame. A single tall candlestick in a metal to match the mirror frame ... +++. Brass rather than pewter though would brighten up the area more. Alternatively a lamp would brighten up the corner but to make it fit move the sideboard so that the mirror is off centre. If you were feeling extravagant you could get a custom piece of stone made for the top. (Gloss black, polished stone and brass are a really classic combination.) Comments (4)After taking a look at the photos of the spaces available, I would recommend, in the kitchen, a modern table with a minimalist and elegant style; wooden chairs with seat covered in fabric or eco-leather. In the living room it would be nice to insert a two-seater sofa covered in fabric; a designer coffee table in polyurethane; a low cabinet to be used as a sideboard and a minimalist and non-invasive bookcase. Comments (13)Thank you everyone for your thoughts. There’s some real effort in the advice and I really appreciate it. I think I’m going to leave the sideboard as it is. Paint the wall, either grey or a deep blue, and add a lamp, plant/ terrarium - possibly a few bottles of gin (for show Ofcourse). If I remember, once I’ve done it - I’ll add a picture and share it. 7 years agoHi, I would definitely put a statement lamp or two on this piece, particularly as it is so close to a sofa. Also a picture or mirror that is just short of the width but has some height would look fab here. Below are a few ides how to decorate it.
You could also put up some shutters on your windows to compliment the sideboard - help tie it all in together?
