Love the grey used in kitchen cupboards. Can you let me know make and shade please? Is it better to spray paint or hand paint?

Hi, Thanks for checking me out!, yes the grey is super, it is an Acrylic colour ( light grey ) it is not a paint. Try HTML colour #989896. This is using a colour catcher App. I strongly recommend getting swatches done, as grey looks so different dependent on the lighting and whats around the product ( reflections can change the look of the colour ) :-)

Hi Laura, You've received many suggestions and some have been quite good. Particularly useful are the photos above of the French pied a terre with the slim line cabinets on one side. If you need somewhere to eat, you can swap the table and chairs for a bar and stools with slim cabinets either side. And don't worry about losing the panel radiator. Your plumber can install a hydronic plinth heater that connects into your central heating. I think the key to your colour scheme should start with your new cooker. Have you considered beige cabinet doors in high gloss? They would make your range look integrated and help reflect light around the room. Polished black granite (or laminate) worktop will pick up the black trim on the cooker. The arched lower door of the cooker points toward a more traditional or transitional look for a cooker hood (black) or an integrated hood. Beige and black tiles would keep the walls of the working area scrubbable. Look at metro tiles for a high gloss finish or patchwork tiles for some retro designs. Lastly, change over to LED lighting with warm white lamps. Avoid harsh white light overhead, but don't forget worktop lighting. Good luck and have fun.

I love the tiles in your bathroom, although they may feel dated in the future, but then most things date. Regarding the kitchen, I feel sure you will find something ideal and if you want a pattern, provided it matches well and you like it, then why not, but I would be careful as your kitchen has a number of colours already. The only thing I would say is, do not go for plain white. Many years ago we rented a holiday home in Ste Maxime in the South of France and the kitchen was totally white, as I walked in I just knew it was my ideal kitchen, within hours I was mopping the floor and spent my whole holiday trying to keep it clean, it was a nightmare, it showed every mark. Mind you at the time the children were young and we spent a great deal of time on the beach, so wet and sandy feet were the order of the day, but, be warned!

There are many designs similar on ebay if you type Victorian floor tiles, a vast array of patterns and styles will come up with some more ostentatious than others. Hope this helps.

Here's a thought - I have two teenage kids and I have never known them or anyone elses kids to play in a "playroom" for more than half an hour especially on their own - they always gravitate to where you are! and will end up building lego on the kitchen table etc. and in the end you are happier having them "in sight" (Unless there is a host of other kids at your house as well.) So my advice would be to not lose valuable space to a designated playroom. Think about the activities you and your partner enjoy too! Do they need some designated space? It could be a room where a lot of toys are stored, sure (and its nice to close the door on it) but could it also be a room where the piano/craft table/office/homework desk/drum kit etc also live.
