Garden room with storage

I would like advice if anyone has just completed a nice garden room with storage. I have a long fairly narrow garden so looking for ideas for a shed to stretch the width of the garden. All ideas welcome :)

Hi I have a very small narrow garden but I have managed to accommodate a garden room and shed all in one unit, the shed is to the right. See photos before, after and unit. Garden room is actually now my office.

Hi. I'd go for the smaller shed, something decorative with windows and door that are front opening. I'd try and get one that is up to 10ft wide and 13' deep which is fairly tall (or look at made to measure) so you can run a pergola off it for a seating area to the right. I'd install fencing on the left and consider painting it all a mid to dark grey which is a great foil for greenery. Perhaps a lawn design similar to this (pic will follow) which should make the garden feel bigger and provide a path to the shed door. Where they have the shrub planted amongst the lawn I'd go for a larger evergreen shrub or tree which should disguise the view of next doors garden building. You can also have climbers on the pergola which will provide some privacy at the back. If you get the sun in that area though I would consider extending the patio and pergola in an L shape so you have decking running off the patio for seating and use the area on the existing patio for a BBQ/fire pit area etc (hope that makes sense!) I might also invest in the all weather rattan garden furniture so you don't need to take up more space in the shed.

The box is locked with a mortice key (5 lever) and a lock that is welded into place. Not sure you can see the key hole on this image - but it is there. It’s also welded to the ground and is made of structural steel - using intimidation tactics to dissuade the opportunist. The added security is that it’s actually disguised as a planter and so most people are surprised to find it provides nearly 4sqm of extra storage. If you are in London, come for a tour!

Turned a spare room in a barn conversion into a multi use space. Storage for shoes / coats etc with a nice open display in 2 areas in oak to give a nice contrast against the blue. Low level bench to sit at to put shoes on or just sit back and enjoy the space. Really enjoyed making this project fully designed and made by myself from start to finish.

Is the building insulated? If not I would go for external insulation and rainscreen cladding (cedar, larch, thermawood, Hardieplank... loads of options!) I would go for - Double sliding/French doors on the office/playroom side - Partially glazed door for the shed storage. - Gravel the side and front of the building - Trailing plants along the side to improve the view out of the windows. I’m just about to start a garden office and we’ve gone for insulated roof panels, a simpler way to have an insulated finished roof without the need for multiple roof joists and all the necessary layers to make up a cold/warm roof! If you can, I would increase the pitch of the roof to at least 5 degrees, add some overhang all around (especially the front) and install guttering and a soak away. If you’re up for the work, I’d reseed the garden and add some topsoil. - Raised beds down the sides - Paint/stain the weathered fence panels - Maybe some nice tiles or pavers on the patio with a table and chairs
