Colour schemes, wallpaper suggestions - bedroom

Looking to wallpaper my bedroom. Just gotten this new Teal bed, the rest of the furniture is oak and carpet is a dark brown. Any suggestions welcome :)

Hi

You could do a feature wall incorporating colours from the carpet and bed frame. While keeping the walls a light colour.

Maybe add table lamps and soft furnishings to enhance the colours in the wallpaper.

That's a great bed Amelia, totally agree. It would work beautifully with Darren's wardrobe, lots of orange in there. You could really make a statement with the light, Vita do a beautiful grey feather lamp http://www.papilloninteriors.co.uk/vita-eos-standard-light-grey-feather-pendant/ which would add to the sumptuous feel (it comes in caramel too).

Yes i think it will look good. Add either colour or texture for warmth though . My son has very similar but the brick on 3 walls with a couple of street signs and a banksy mural on the 4th wall with a laminate "loft" style floor. I think it's quite a good look for a boys room and takes them into adult and beyond

Are you changing the carpets or is it all staying?

And what directions do the windows face? That makes a big difference to the colours that would suit the room :)

Once you have already set the colour tone with the bed and carpet l would avoid wallpaper and I would go for light painted walls in tinted white or very pale acqua with coordinating wall features, art, mirrors and lightshades. Add interest rugs over the carpet and nice layered bed linens including lots of cushions. You could add more visual interest with the window treatments too.

Love the colour of the bed. I think I'd build your colour scheme around it with the introduction of some pattern and textures. If wallpapering I would just do the one feature wall behind the bed and keep the other walls, bedding, window dressing and accessories in white or neutral colours. Love this wallpaper which I think will look good:

A few cushions on the bed in an one or two accent colours, in this case the green/yellow, or a dark navy will pull the look together. Coral and dusty pinks also work really well with teal.
