Love the kitchen rack for pot / pans etc

Does it screw into ceiling joists & what weight can it hold , as I want it to be safe & not fall down. Also how long is it plz for top to bottom , thanx I await your reply , Sandra x

Hello Sandra,

Thanks for your question, yes the rack does have to be screwed into joists or some other beam that is suitable for load bearing, so you will have to locate the joists when it comes to fixing.

The screw hooks are supplied with the product. We recommend a max load of 25kg - the product it self will hold mush more than this, but this is our suggestion given that we do not know what it will be secured to.

In our previous house pans were on a wall mounted rack which worked well although the less used ones got a bit greasy so needed periodic washing. In the current house they sit in a corner cupboard. Although not ideal it works surprisingly well as we keep the most used pans at the front where they can be accessed by opening just one door. One day I'll have pan drawers but until then the corner cupboard works for us.

Shan M - I never did do the brick slips in the end! I managed to salvage a wall to the side of the kitchen so ended up just painting the back kitchen wall in the same colour as the units (well itt's a different tone due to the paint finish) and it's quite dramatic and I love it. If I had done brick slips, they would have gone on afterwards and been fitted around the units to save money. retrospectively, the brick slips cost the same as a full brick and although the original builder said it would be cheaper to tile with slips rather than to build a brick wall, the actual bricklayer (after he finished the job) disagreed! He said he could have done block work up the units and bricked all the exposed areas. Probably would have cost the same as tilers are not cheap! Doh.

Hi tani, the scaffolding one would be ok but will not give the sleeker square box section look your after, if it’s not too far, id take robin up on the offer to go on the welding course, you’d easily be able to put that together and cheaply as you’ll have access to their equipment, welding isn’t hard, getting it neat is the harder thing :-) I used to weld a long time back, never leaves you and very handy! As said, that’s not an expensive frame, esp if you can do it yourself, degreased raw metal and a coat if lacquer would be exactly what your after.
