Comments (3)I know this sounds a like a silly question, but are you going to use it as an open fire? If so, you'd need to use heat proof paint, so colour / choice options are more limited. ( for the tiles ). Obviously you can paint the surround however you like. I think i'd keep the tiles as they are, depending on what other colours you wanted in the room. You can buy some great armchairs in mustard these days. It also goes really well with black. Comments (11)I think you are wise to avoid a wood burner as they pollute the atmosphere both outside and inside. They produce the same dangerous chemicals that cars do. Definitely avoid if anyone in the home has asthma or breathing problems. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are eventually banned. If your energy company have renewable electricity, many do, then an electric fire would be a good option....See Moresusan
