Please! I need help for my kitchen remodel!
A pipe leak brought on a much overdue, though unexpected, kitchen remodel. Insurance is paying $4,000 for repairs, but this kitchen needs more than repairs!
I need help with the design that will not empty my retirement savings!
I'm replacing the cooktop with a range (with microwave overhead) so there will be countertop reaching to the pantry area. How can I use the spaces that are "lost" in the back corners. The back of the pantry is practically unreachable!
I'd going to replace the window and sliding door.

I think I'm going to put in IKEA cabinets.

Michael beat me to it! was to recommend the exact thing. that's your best bet for the awkward corner. plus you will have more room in the panty. cut some nice custom made shelving in there. you won't need another panty (where the book case was ) if you redo the other. just drywall the area if you don't need the shelving/book case again.
see if you can squeeze in a spot for the trashcans. maybe do a larger island w/pullout trash. or perhaps in the new pantry area, you could stash them. I have a pull out under the sink in mine. you could probably do that as well w/the Ikea cabinets.

Some have specific guides to how close the chimney can or can't be and some have guides about items projecting over them too - Worth checking before you order anything ! English revival do a glass sided wall cabinet that might work well in the top right wall unit - might be worth upgrading to that range for your two glass cabinets, as its part of the same company so most dealers would be able to offer this I imagine. That way you will get a bit more light through . Comments (10)Hello Caro, That is a spectacular kitchen and the second I have seen on Houzz that's similar.. The other was yellow but the owners ripped it out! I am very glad you're keeping yours.. The fridge is wonderful too... What would really make this stand out is if you could find a home for the pans... So the kitchen remains sleek... Could I suggest a warmer lighter granite for the worktop or perhaps a worktop that would compliment the look like Formica! ... I think black would be too harsh here.. Something with blue in would be good too so it compliments the tiles... OR keep what you have as it looks blue.... You could have blue as a theme for the flooring too... Are you changing the flooring?.. Comments (31)Hi, we purchased Lerhyttan light grey last year for the kitchen and absolutely love it! Just in case you want a paint colour that goes well with it too, I splashed out for Farrow & Ball 'Wevet'. It's very close to white but isn't. We have a white ceiling and you can easily see a difference in colour. It keeps the kitchen looking light. We have a wooden floor and a wooden worktop, plus put in a welsh slate windowsill and then some dark blue roller blinds. It all looks fantastic. One thing my partner did is make a 'pull out' cup ard from normal drawers and doors. It is fab, so much so that he's going to make me another as you can get right to the back of the cupboard. Why Ikea does not promote these hacks I do not know. To fit everything in, my partner also designed a breakfast bar that has the washing machine underneath it on one side (opposite the tumble dryer) and then on the other side of the island is the dishwasher. It's a great use of space as he's closed up a window that looked onto my waterbutts, fence and neighbour's extension and put in more storage for me.. We played with the Ikea planning app for maybe 1/2 a year before taking the plunge. You can really make it work it you just take the time to plan it properly. He wanted to warn you about the price of cover panels though - the large ones are £127 a pop - a huge price for just a bit of coloured wood, and you'll end up using them all over. For under the breakfast bar, he got some MDF and then glued on some floor tiles, cut through the door of the washing machine and saved us approx £220! (Came to £40 instead of £260). One thing that I cannot stress enough is that it's REALLY worth looking for returns in the 2nd hand bit. You can pick up doors at a completely bargain price so always go and have a look. Ours still isn't finished as we're doing it ourselves (so please excuse the floor protector), but it looks completely amazing already compared to what it was before! Our friends love it. 6 years agoYes, there is a dishwasher to the right of the sink. Counter will be extended to the corner of the wall on the left. I'm considering moving the dishwasher to the left side and moving the sink to the right a few inches. This would allow space for a lazy Susan cupboard to utilize unreachable space in the corner.
What does everyone think about a small peninsula at the end and a cabinet on the wall?The studs are exposed because the damaged drywall was removed.

I was considering a 30 in pantry cabinet with pull out drawers to access the entire space but that left all the space to the left "unusable".
Is this space big enough for the pantry you described, D. Michael and Beth H.?

Open shelving with clear food jars can be a great look. Also built-in shelving can be pretty cost effective and a great complement. I also really like the idea of a stand-alone pantry option. Here are some other ideas I've found.
