Does anyone know how I can achieve this look with tiles and wood floor
Comments (12)Tracey, those are encaustics which tend to be 18-20mm in depth, your wood will most likely be engineered ply if you have underfloor heating and depths vary 12mm upward. If one or the other substrate needs to be built up to accommodate the other that is possible. Be aware there will be some movement between the two, more so if you are using long boards, less with parquet, so consider how best to deal with any movement or expansion between the two. There are plenty of products available for this. Make sure your encaustics are sealed correctly. You could also find the cleaning regimen of the two finishes may be very different. Lithoflin for encaustics - and oil/wax for an oiled floor, that's not a great combination, so perhaps an easy maintenance wood might be better in the long run....See MoreHelp!!! Comments (39)Jonathandb1972, I was thinking of going with a grout that is the same colour or lighter than the grey tile. The hex will be grouted in a medium grey. This has already been done in the loo (the hex) and looks great. Neither are grouted in the above picture. Do you think there will still be issues with where the grout lines are if they are the same or lighter than the tile? Also, where the hex tile in the shower meets the grey tile will mainly be covered by the shower's profile. However, the shower only goes up to about 2m, so there will still be a visible "meeting" of tiles above that. My builder is a little concerned about how this will look as he will have to cut small pieces of tile to fill up the edge, which may stain once they start grouting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best......See MorePorch idea
Comments (11)For the OP - the porch should be designed to fit in with the existing building otherwise it has the danger of looking like a big carbuncle stuck onto the house. For that reason, take your lead from the bay windows. I'd brick the sides up to the same level as the bottom of the window in the bays then glaze with similar frames and glass. The door can be the same as what you're proposing but keep the glass the same as on your house - TBH, the photo of the door doesn't look like mirrored glass, I think it's just the reflection from the photo (I might be wrong?!?). The roof can be the same as you have and either brick the front gable or glaze it....See MoreLoo/porch/hall/ Lounge...North Facing
Comments (6)Hi Sarah, I'm sorry I'm not sure what the exact colour is, it was a picture I had saved on Pinterest as I thought the colour was lovely and was looking for something similar. F&B cabbage white looks nice but I haven't tried a sample. Hague blue is stunning but definitely quite a statement, where exactly are you going to use it?...See MoreBlack Qubd
