Need help for my kitchen

I want to redisign my kitchen as the current design with L shaped units doesnt make the most of the space as its difficult to get a big family table in the small space at the back of the kitchen. Its a weird layout currently with cooker and units in an L shape at one end of the kitchen and then the sink, washing machine and dishwasher along the back righthand wall.

How can I redesign my kitchen so that I can make the most of the space, have more storage room and fit a kitchen table for 4. I would love an island too, but dont think this would be possible. The dimensions of the kitchen are in the screenshot its 17'8x11'1 (5.38M x 3.38).

Is it possible to move the white goods and sink up starting from the 'L' shape heading up towards the stairs, if the units that make up the 'L'shape are about 1800 mm moving that part of the kitchen up would still give a walk through of 7-800 mm to then you fit your dinning table in comfortably in the space where the sink etc were, all plumbing provisions could come from the downstairs wc it would just be the waste that would need a small modification possibly to get it outside.
You could also extend the worktop a little on the 'L' shape bit to form a breakfast bar area, unfortunately doing this if possible will mean no room for an island, hope his helps.

I think it can be done as long as you have a whole wall free for the table and as long as you source small chairs.
Even before you pull out a chair, a table with a chair each side takes up nearly half the width of the room. I think you will need to keep it pressed against the wall to give you enough room for working in the kitchen and only pull it out in high days and holidays

My 4.2 x 8m flat roof (fibre glass) extension with 3 rooflights and Alu bi-folds and side window & k rendered - plus electrics & plumbing/fitting of a downstairs bathroom & utility plus remodelling inside walls and replastering existing room and new room all came in at around £41k No floorings No heating panels if we want infra red vs using our old rads) No furniture ie no kitchen or bathroom Unpainted (prefer to do myself!) We are cutting down the utility to remove an external door cost, might skip the side kitchen window as will be light enough and taking out one roof light as two should be plenty as south facing. Could save by not having bifolds of course or going for white doors/windows instead of black/grey but some things I’m not willing to compromise on. Spent months looking at smaller options to reduce the size but came across more issues so stuck with the original. Firstly as suggested, a size would help and so would a floor plan as there might be ways of remodelling your internal layout so a smaller extension could work. I actually redesigned my friends house on an app and reconfigured their back room to extend out only by 2m but it gave them a much better space than they have already.

There are kitchen companies that can replace the doors, plinths and end panels etc thus completely changing the colour of your kitchen but using existing units. One I know if is Dream doors which my neighbour used to go from dark wood to cream and I cannot tell they are the old units. I like your kitchen, the layout seems good. I feel whats making it feel a bit dated is the amount of orangey pine or similar wood. Even changing the door knobs would help. If you wanted a greater change, a handleless slab kitchen in either a matching cream as the aga, or a grey might work? As an aside, changing the colour of the floor might help too.

The 2nd picture celerygirl posted is beautiful. You could also consider a small flat-weave rug to break up the beige floor a bit. Something small enough that it can go in the washing machine when needed. I also agree with cazsf that removing the single cupboard above the peninsula would make the space look better. Also if you have a digital plan on your person when you are shopping - and a tape measure - you can try things out digitally as you go. The only downside - if this isn’t your usual profession - is you won’t be fully up to speed with the safety angles of kitchen design - so might be advisable to enlist some pro help - either virtually ( like we work ) or in person to keep things safe ! I think Jonathan's idea looks great. A table for 6 (more than you specified), a nice long run of base and wall units, and still looks spacious. I can't think of a better arrangement.

But I would ask for suggestions as to best place to put the fridge.
